Seth and Maxey will be a bad backcourt pairing. Seth should be coming off the bench; and Maxey, Green, Korkmaz, Tobias, and Embiid should be the starters. At least until there is a Ben trade.

This also means they plan on using Milton as the backup PG. Yuck.

Agreed. Not a fan of Shake as the back-up PG at all.

You're right, he should be starting SG.

Im not a fan of the 6ft backcourt of Seth and Maxey. I would rather start shake and have Maxey be the 6thman off the bench with the ball in his hands next to furk and tisse

Here's another interview with Embiid released today:

He ends the interview talking about how his contract extension is a continuation of keeping his dream and his goal alive of playing for one city and retiring in Philly.

Well, hasn't kept them COMPLETELY together, if you know what I mean.

Tobi is so underrated to this fan base. He has a massive contract, but he's definitely a winning player on and off the court.

Bringing Seth from the bench doesn't make sense because the biggest reason for his increase in scoring is that he can play off Embiid screens, similar to what Reddick did.

If you want size it makes more sense to bring Maxey from the bench and play Shake as the starter.

Shake and Maxey were too inconsistent last year to both unseat Curry from the starting lineup. That's just not how the league works.

Joel taking more 3s could be a issue , since they dont have ben to get the rebounds are they going run with joel and Drummond? surley not right?

While I agree that the Embiid presence improved his scoring, he unfortunately was not utilized enough like Redick in the DHO because he's more of a C&S player. Redick in 2018-2019 was by far the most frequent usage of DHO and scored the most points off it. Curry this year is pretty far down the list for a player of that ilk.

Simmons isn't some sort of expert offensive rebounder...

Like with every time this comes up it depends on what the added 3s come at the expense of. If he's going to be taking them instead of all the midrange shots he has taken in the past I'm not sure what the difference would be there.

He also just says stuff sometimes, we'll see if this actually turns into anything.

Tobias love is gross. I feel like this team is still dysfunctional.

I'm not sure if dysfunctional is the right word so long as Simmons isn't around, but I agree regarding Harris. No one ever said he wasn't a solid guy and good locker room presence or that he isn't a good player. Or that he isn't well read. The question is if he is a player you can win with while he is commanding the % of the cap he does - and dismissing his salary is foolish, as he isn't the difference maker to justify that number. Championship teams don't have 'nice' players making max money. If he was making half what he is now, I guarantee you would never see or hear a thing about needing to move him.

The “well read” commentary of Tobias every time his name comes up here is exceptionally weird to me. It’s about on par with the “young socialite” nickname of Ben, a term he never even used.

I've said he likes books in the past as a joke because (a) Mike Scott said it in a post game interview once and it was very funny (b) I've seen him carrying books into games in those pregame photos the team tweets out like dozens of times and (c) the guy clearly likes books

It's just a joke - 'exceptionally weird' might be a bit much, but perhaps a bit tired at this point.

I suppose I wasn’t as in on the joke as I thought I was. Usually I hear it in a negative context regarding his value, which always seems weird to me. Perhaps I’m overthinking it.
