Let's hope this kind of performance continues, because as the Sixers play successfully in the absence of Simmons, their trade leverage with other teams increases.

Danny Green was a jerk in the offseason and he has the worst game of his career in game 1. He needs to step it up in a major way in game 2.

yeah, he padded his scoring numbers at the end but i liked what i saw.

A lot of the distance the team got in the third was when Joel and Maxey starting playing off each other instead of Joel palying off Seth.

Having this line ups out there allows us to try different stuff, which i think is what the team actually needed

Blazers could too lol. Works both ways.

True, just think the Kings have better pieces, or at least more intriguing to me.

I agree I hate to say this and no pun intended, but Ben could go to the Kings and be a King. It would be his team he could actually get them to the playoffs and break their drought. And if they ever met the Mavericks in the playoffs, Ben could shut down Luka and they would advance. Sacramento would go crazy. Imagine that the Mavericks avoiding the Kings in the playoffs standings.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Lauren Rosen needs to stop asking questions in pressers, she's too cringe

We made a great percentage, but if there is something to watch it's a concern over 3PAs. 25 is going to put the Sixers behind the math most nights. Have to shoot more.

That's insane for a team that supposedly lost its starting PG, is missing its 2nd unit PG and relied on a center and forward to run units and our second and third units played the majority of the 4th!

I've long held a theory that having Simmons as the PG was a material factor in being a high turnover team. Not that he himself is that turnover prone, but that in general his penchant for passing up shots leads to more late shot clock passes and guys getting jammed up late possession, especially Joel. He also mucks up spacing that can lead to deflections.

I'll be curious to see if Simmons new team also sees their turnover rate go up.

I've thought the same thing. That and his man being able to play off him like a free safety just made it that much harder to drive or find passing lanes for everyone.

Yeah I would say that is the only real negative takeaway from the first game (well, that and the Pelicans without Zion are probably awful). Need to generate more. Like Danny only got one shot... that's not totally his fault since his role is to just stand in the corner, guys gotta find shooters. This is the next real step for Maxey to take.

Agree. It'll be sink or swim for Maxey. I feel like we'll see his character in the upcoming few weeks.
