Maybe Embiid is not concerned about winning MVP anymore, this is only good news, it is a meaningless accolade that all it does is make you more tired for the postseason. We should embrace him to not post monster statlines and scoring, this means he is not expending as much effort, it would be different if shooting percentages were bad, but this is not really the case.

But the point guard problem along with a closer is still going to be there.
... have you not been paying attention to what has been going on with this team the last few months? Their starting point guard is holding out, they have been trying to trade him off and on for almost a year now, with the ideal target seemingly being a guard that fills that sort of role you describe, or at least a package that could help them get there subsequently. Heck their main target at the trade deadline was also a very good point guard.
That's what their sights are set on, not wasting assets on trading for a 24 year old former late first round pick that you have to use Summer League highlights to pump up.
In the interim I'm sure they think it's more worth it to them to see if Maxey develops.

2 wins every 3 games is still a 54-55 wins season, that's easily a top 3 seed

It seems like when we go into an offensive funk our solution is to get the ball in Tobias' hands to unfunk it and then it proceeds to get even worse. I'd honestly like to see this team play without Harris for a stretch. I think they might be better if not for the fact that the roster isn't deep enough to absorb all his minutes.
When Doc talks about how they stop moving the ball when in a funk, it's by design. Because in those moments we get the ball to Tobi and he's a dribbler who can't create shots for others. What does Doc think is going to happen when you give a guy like that the ball?
If I had a magic wand, I'd like to see Simmons and Embiid back together with a real floor spacer with gravity in Harris' spot. I always thought that the last year or so and seeing the young guys and role players play better makes me think this roster is better suited for Simmons now.

How good would a 5 man unit of Simmons, Curry, Green (or Kork, Milton, Joe, etc), Niang, and Embiid look? I bet that lineup would destroy opponents.

I miss seeing big guys abusing players down low in the paint. Come back soon Drummond.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.
