Yea Joel is probably the best center in terms of a combination of offense and defensive skills as a big man, but most teams would rather have a star shot creating wing instead.

The low post game has been deemphasized to the point that it really doesn't exist any more. Bigs are being taught to stretch the floor, become good passers, and play facing the basket now, which has become a large part of Embiid's game.

The fact that he is still so sloppy with the ball is one of the main reasons he can't be the focal point of the offense in the last few minutes of a game.

It’s like having the best running back in the NFL without an adequate quarterback. That team’s offense isn’t going to function effectively and the team overall isn’t likely to be any better than about average. Such is the nature of how present-day professional football functions, and present-day professional basketball is analogous.

Joel needs to focus on defense, and Morey has to get the player to make Joel a 2nd option.

Joel is the first option the first 3 quarters. He’s just not effective end of games.

We need a 2nd option who can take over the fourth quarter.

Jimmy butler knew that. He coasted the first 3 quarters. Let embiid work hard and butler takes over.

If you’re saying choosing Brett, Ben (and to a lesser extent Tobias) instead of Jimmy was a mistake… yeah, I’d say you’re right on.

I like this running back without quarter back analogy better than the sharpest samurai one, just saying.

Yet we still had fans who conveniently forgot Jimmy's massive contributions in the fourth quarters of the 2019 playoffs (and even regular season), but instead choose to moan how Jimmy didn't do anything for the third 36 minutes.

Embiid got an MRI. No issues found.

Did something happen last game? Or is he just not feeling right?

i'm guessing they are just checking after the Knee to Knee. He has gotten an absolutely crazy amount of MRI's in his lifetime. I'm guessing it ain't even a thing anymore.

It's interesting that Embiid sits out on the day that the guy we want most is in town. Could he and Morey be doing some recruitment behind the scenes?

He’s struggling from mid range at 35% compared to 49% last season. He’ll bounce back.
