I don't think I've ever seen him hit a 3 in the NBA... But he's unconscious in the g-league in all aspects. A career 40% guy on like 4 attempts per game.

It'd be nice to see one of him or Bassey or Joe or Springer (or all four) take a leap next season. They can all be critical rotation players.

I wonder why he is shooting horribly in the NBA, if my memory is right his misses are really bad. Maybe he’s tanking and wanting to play for another team? Hmm..

He can be a Jerami Grant/Christian Woods type player for another team.

If he ever finds his shot, I like the idea of starting him with Embiid.

Should just be watching Siakam film all offseason.

I’d prefer him to be a Jerami Grant type player but with better shooting for selfish reasons. He also does not possess Siakam’s physical strength.

I think the modern “Robert Horry” should also be able to protect the rim. Because if Shaq or Olajuwon are playing in today’s game, both have to step out to play defense and they can’t just play goalie under the rim. And you need your “robert horry” to protect the paint in these circumstances.

And I think Paul Reed can be our Robert Horry that can also protect the rim.

I'd love to see all four make that leap and give us rotation players on rookie deals, but Glenn isn't a visionary that way. He plays kids only when there are no other options.

Here's a potential reason for Reed's disparity between fthe G League and here - he's in constant fear of the quick hook here and doesn't just relax and play his game like he does in Delaware.

Reed's not good enough to play at the NBA level the way he does in Delaware, not for a team that's trying to win games

I think Reed is OK at PF. He actually did a good job defending Giannis. But on offense, he needs to be able to shoot 3s and catch lobs.

Why do I see this kid being used as an add on in a deal this summer? We have Embiid's backup and Harden's lob guy already in house, and we're scouring the gutter for leftovers.

Despite Bball Paul's theatrics the last two games I think Bassey is the criminal offense Doc's committed. I think some of this is on Morey as well for bringing in Cauley-Stein at first and then Jordan, snuffing out any chance Doc would be forced to give Bassey a legitimate look (where a mistake or two banishes him to the G-League permanently).

I think Bassey would be more impactful in the 9-12 minutes Embiid is off the floor in the playoffs than Reed.

I've thought the same thing. Having both here this year would have been great, but B-Ball is still more a 4 or small ball 5, whereas Bassey could have been brought along as the backup to Embiid, getting some consistent minutes earlier in the season that might have had him prepared for this.

I still blame Glenn. I don't know Morey's thinking on this, but moves for guys like Cauley-Stein and DAJ have Doc written all over them - perhaps Morey went along knowing this is Glenn's comfort zone.

Well, snapping at Bodner for even commenting on Reed’s great effort was illuminating and criminal. As if having a kid who can do that for the minutes Embiid has to sit is not a gift, let alone you might want to try him next to Embiid and totally control the paint. Let alone you got another kid who looks like a monster rim tender. He’s such a drag.

Yeah, Doc is just an **** at this point. Instead of giving a vanilla answer like “Paul has played great and we’ll look at playing him in the right situations” he instead makes it about himself, belittles a reporter, and potentially undermines the confidence of a young player. He’s gotta go man.

He should be our backup C next year. Don’t give Glenn another washed vet to mess around with.

I think his body right now is NBA ready. I don’t think he should try to add weight, because i think he has a frame like Joel that will naturally add pounds as he gets older. I’m sure he could stand to get stronger.

Yeah, I meant gaining some muscle weight. Doc even mentioned how he gets pushed around too much

Doc was talking about how Bassey allowed himself to be jerked around by the 76ers coaching staff and not say anything. :D
