I couldn't disagree more about this logic. This team is not winning a championship this year and should not be making moves based upon what is best for the team this year. This team has a starting backcourt with a combined one year of experience going into this year. The question to ask is who will be helping the sixers win 3-4 years from now? It's not going to be Kapono. So can you trade Kapono for a more talented player than Beasely? I doubt it. Bring in Beasely and hope that either him or Speights can become a top flight PF. Maybe Brand can help turn one of these guys into the player we hoped he would be.

you took that statement to literally..., what I meant was Kapono is worthless to us and likely would not get any minutes this year or net us anything better than Beasley even if he was traded in a package, but if Beasley was here, he actually gets some time to play and we can see what to do with him afterwards.

I dont like him either but I would be willing to give him a chance to see what he can do - I try to put my emotions aside like I did when KK was traded and think about the team overall - IMO his potential is worth the risk

Beasley has the mental confidence of a rape victim walking in a dark alley

I think there are different meanings of band-aid then if Beasley is a band-aid type move. To me band-aid to means a vet or someone that is brought in to help a team win. Beasley would be brought in for his potential or to be used as an asset.

Nobody should think the Sixers will be a title contending team anytime soon. Players mature at different rates and under different circumstances. Beasley would play under a good coach or could be traded . His value can only go and if he doesn't he will not be re-signed.

Not getting a player because he isn't a good fit on a championship contending team is stupid if the team trading for him is nowhere close to a championship contending team.

band-aid = temporary fix

*I* don't believe Beasley will be here for long and don't believe his attitude can do ANY good around a team that features a 20 year old PG and a 21 year old SG hence... I don't want him.

Why would the Heat want Kapono? I thought they want to shed Beasley for nothing so they can sign the 3 max contracts.

I'd do the trade if it was really offered. Beasley still has a very nice upside!

take him and packaged him. this is our shot to rectify the imbalance of our team and get back on the map.

I don't think Beasley would be a temporary fix. I don't know what he would be fixing or that he would be acquired with the intention of having him fix something. I think getting Beasley in this hypothetical trade would be a good basketball move. The risk of the benefit incredibly outweighs the loss.

I'm okay with Beasley around Jrue, Turner, or Thad, not around Speights. I think Beasley would not cause much trouble under Collins.

It almost feels like a joke saying that we would decline this trade. This organization or team should should not be choosers and put themselves above certain circumstances.

i agree... i really think if Beasley comes into next season with a chip on his shoulder, he can start tapping into the potential he possesses.

whats this do for Wes Johnson or the Love/Jefferson combo?

im assuming there could be more moves to be made.

I think it's pretty certain that Al Jefferson is leaving town. Beasley should find some quality minutes on this team as a starter. I think they move Love to center and play him there.
