Wow. I don't care if we have a cardboard cutout of Muggsy Bogues manning the middle, if we can clear Brand's salary then we need to jump on that without hesitation. What is this team's best interest? To hold onto players in their 30s with large contracts while not winning anything?

I never states that we should hold onto Brand. But to move him without obtaining another bigman is not a good move.

Suns could add Garet Siler or Earl Barron to sweeten the deal.

And I'm saying it shouldn't make any difference whatsoever who we get back. We suck now. What's going to happen, more suckage? Awesome.

It would definitely be a tanking move, but I cannot see the Sixers not doing this. Brand is a terrible mismatch with our youth movement.

If that's the case, Rod Thorn might as well go buy a hyperbaric chamber for Tony Battie.

Neither am I. I am all for getting rid of Brand's contract too.

Totally appreciate the guy's toughness and work ethic, but his $15 mil/year could definitely be invested elsewhere with our team's current situation.

So what's the best offer by RealGMers that you guys have received for Iggy and/or fillers?

Top 3 in no particular order:

Pacers with George, 1st, Expiring
Houston with a potpourri of Expiring/ pick some of Hill/Paterson/Budinger/Picks
GS with Udoh and expirings/D. Wright

Some people like Gortat {or Kaman or are convinced that Deandre Jordan should've been a top 10 pick if not top 5}, but I'm ignoring that.

I think the Houston is most likely to happen and will include less than expected.

Udoh was a higher draft pick at a position of more need, but I think the 1st would make Indy slightly more attractive at least until Udoh plays.

Maybe I missed an oddball sweet offer, but I don't think I missed a credible one,

I hadn't heard of the Rockets one. From what I read here, it sounds like they were interested in Iggy before. As to why, I'd be confused as Iggy is more of a SG then a SF. With KMart as their Starting SG...why would they be interested in adding another SG like Iggy?

Iguodala has played the best of his career at SF, and started for team USA at SF...

Supposedly it was TMac (EC) + Budinger for Iguodala + Dalembert last year, which Philly rejected.

Dalembert definitely had negative value at the time with a trade kicker and an ~12 million salary with a year left, although now that he is gone you will hear how much some of us miss him. I think you get more than Budinger, but I'm not sure by how much, but the versions typically posted are 3 of random mid-late pick 2011/2012/hill/budinger/paterson.

More on track, Iguodala fits Morey's player profile perfectly a la a Battier, a defensive force and overall contributor more than a scorer. Martin seemed like a strange get for them tomeat the time, I wouldn't be surprised to see him flipped, but Martin and Iguodala are actually nice compliments.

The Sixers would be fools not to trade Brand straight up for any expiring offered. Of course, they are fools so don't expect it to happen.

I still think Mem is an ideal team to look at. Their window is Iggy's prime (imo), and he'd really compliment their line up, and in a Mayo/Thabeet trade (two prospects who haven't panned out exactly as expected) they are moving guys with salary left very similar to Iggy's at least for the next couple of years. In fact the way Mayo/Thabeet are playing I think sixers are actually getting the short end of the stick in that one value wise. I think adding a Speights/Henry swap makes it better for both teams, as Mem then has another option to resigning Randolph if Speights/Arthur can man the PF position going forward.

If i'm philly and can pull of that deal I'd probably look to flip Mayo to a 3rd team, maybe see if Por is interested for Batum, giving them a Roy replacement on the cheap for a few years while they see how Roys knees hold up.
