Definitely.

They are the cause of most of our poor perimeter defense, and many of our turn overs too.

Since Okakor will be our PF going further is there any chance he can be as good as Anthony Davis offensively? Davis played Center for Kentucky and is now the best PF in the NBA. Okafor had a more offensive mindset and arsenal than Davis in college. Can he extend his range like Davis though? I guess we will find out.

I don't see why not. He would have to keep improving on his jumper, but Okafor has elite offensive talent for sure.

As soon as he figures out how to get to the line more he will start averaging 22+ points a game.

9/15DFGA tonight for Jah, but did a solid job challenging shots. Not much lapses on defensive rotations. Needs to improve activity on chasing rebounds.

For some reason, I'm more confident with Okafor shooting 3's than from mid range. He doesn't seem to miss 3's as badly.

He could have made a stronger case comparing Russell, who's picked 2nd overall over KP&Jah vs Turner.

Depends on whether or not he knows that he has double the estimated wins added than Turner.

Smart defense on that playing way off of him. The first thing that came to mind watching it was "They gave us Saric and a pick for this guy." A couple of late rotations stuck out to me. Mainly the ones on Jason Smith to start the 4th that seemed like they put the game out of reach.

First game I've watched in a while. Thought he was really impressive offensively, but handled double teams terribly. Thought I read he was improving in that department?

FWIW, his DRtg was 126 for the game. People have been saying that his defense has improved all season. I'm not seeing it.

He's had portions of games where he seemed to be playing the inside out game more, passing out as soon as he saw a double coming, such as against the Kings, but that was without Noel.

That was Jerami Grant, he had the 126, Okafor had the lowest DRtg of our main rotational bigs last night at 119. Noel had 121.

Watched the replay of the last two games. I saw there's some problem with Jah getting back to his man after a missed shot from him, because opposing Cs usually guard him then opposing PFs would then leak out. Nerlens should probably chase the PF and they'd switch on d. It's a communication issue.

Less lapses on defensive rotations. He's actually doing a good job challenging shots and rotating to scorers. It's just those shots are going in, the past two games. His defensive numbers were good prior to that.Watched the tape, like last night Jason Smith had 2-3 mid range shots with good close out from Jah.

He also has been moving his feet well on defense. That is from guarding Teague, Milsap, Deron, Parsons and deron (except for that one nice cross by deron last night) on iso or closeout from perimeter.

His individual D is ok, it's his team defense that's the issue. He's always way too slow to react. Which is a problem since rim protection is your last line of defense, and I'm not see a ton of resistance there.

Okafor is shooting 62.9% with both Ish and Noel on the court.
With Ish and no Noel he is shooting 53.2%.
With Noel and no Ish he is shooting 43.8%.
With neither he is shooting 48.6%.

Noel is shooting 55.1% with both Ish and Okafor on the court.
With Ish and no Okafor he is shooting 70.0%.
With Okafor and no Ish he is shooting 47.8%.
With neither he is shooting 47.9%.

Okafor actually scores more efficiently having both Noel and Ish on the court, Noel just seems to need Ish and benefits from having more spacing without Okafor, although still shoots relatively well with him.

I think that his effort has been more consistent, and his brain farts have been less frequent. His defense is clearly a work in progress though.

This was more evident in today's game against Pistons.
