Yes, I'm 99% sure he is.

I'd consider a 2017 pick swap as part of the deal. Could be huge for us to juice our lottery odds.

Otherwise a 2018 unprotected is good. Would eat Asik to get that.

Anyone know what 76ers odds would be for first pick and or top 2-3? if we had their pick in a swap as well? Thatd be insane

We are at a stage where that cap space is way more valuable than a 3rd pick that has a chance to be in the 5-10 range. 10 mil a year for the through 2019 is not ideal. What if the Pelicans somehow improve and that pick is 15th? That would be catastrophic.

Their '18 pick could potentially be very valuable. Steal Jrue from them in FA and watch as Okafor turns AD into a jump-shooter. Their pick would be top 10 at worst.

We need to get more. If they want to move Asik I'm not opposed to acquiring him but the return would have to be massive. At least two first round picks. Thats before factoring in Okafor.

We'd also have to move Noel after acquiring either Asik or Ajinca. I mean spending over 30 million for two backup centers would be insane cap mismanagement.

I doubt holiday is getting traded, but trading for okafor while getting rid of your only NBA quality point guard seems like it would be a massively stupid move.

This news comes to you straight from the desk of Bryan Colangelo. He is using the media as a negotiating tool. A guy like Dell Demps may even fall for it.

Actually that isn't the most catastrophic part of the deal. I mean there is a real chance Asik is just done as a NBA player. So we need a backup center. Do we resign Noel? In that case we are not just paying that 10 million to 2019 we are paying 30 million till 2019. On TWO backup centers. That is franchise crippling.

If we trade Okafor and acquire a contract back like Asik we need to move Noel as well. We also need a heck of alot more then a protected first regardless of the year for Asik let alone including Okakor. We are essentially fixing Pelicans cap while screwing up our own while giving up an asset. They better be giving us all their picks.

We're not eating Asik without getting something VERY JUICY back. BC isn't that stupid.

The best thing about this rumour is that both incompetent FOs will blatently using the media, with each thinking they are getting the upper hand. Very entertaining.
