Would you still be ok with the pick or do you want him to be your marquee player?

For instance, maybe your team now becomes a perennial playoff team but has no huge superstar to win a championship. Would you still be happy or is it now championship or bust?

Embiid is a huge superstar and our best player regardless.

Simmons is better than Billy Owens. Owens was like Boris Diaw. A Swiss Army knife role playing forward. Simmons is a franchise player.

Embiid is not even close to being a star player..He has been in league two years and has not played half a season. If he is the sixers best player well you are in trouble.imho Simmons well he was not even playing against rookies in summer league?
I would not count my points rebounds and assists before he finishes his first NBA game. Franchise player you have to be kidding.

There are too many inaccuracies to even start

Embiid is most definitely a star player. He's a top 20 player right now. He just needs to play more. Simmons will be a star player. Both players are franchise players who could carry a team to a championship. They have that much ability.

He is not top 20 as he can't stay on the court. Two years playing 70 plus games then he might or is top 20. You are counting your chickens before your eggs hatched.
Simmons sure didn't look like franchise player in summer league game I watched or in college games I watched!! He needs to play basketball which is something in the NBA he has failed to do.

When Embiid plays he's a top 20 player. So he's a top 20 player. You will find out about Simmons soon enough. I said the same thing about Embiid for 2 years when I claimed he's the best big man prospect since Duncan and I was right. People said I was wrong for 2 years. After what we saw I was proven right. And we will see about Simmons when he plays this season. I will be proven right again.

So far they can't stay on the court. Yes we will see if they ever play basketball inthe NBA.

You can't say a guy is top 20 when in two years he has played so few basketball ball games.

He is a third year rookie.

Simmons has yet to play an NBA full game it i remember right? Here is the thing, amateurs don't understand. If you damage one part the other part carries the whole body around and now is more likely to be injured. With the failure of sixers trainers and medical people over and over again Simmons having a major injury should be considered a given.

So far you have been proven wrong.. They have not been able to play in NBA basketball games. They are at this point enormous failures.

Ridiculous post. I can say Embiid is a top 20 player because I said it. Players know it. GMs know it. And you're really reaching on Simmons. Best not injury prone. I feel he gets hurt again maybe but you're wrong. We have 2 franchise players in Embiid and Simmons. We will be just fine.

Simmons and Embiid are gonna a be a challenge for Crowder and Horford. Their strength should be able to bully them in the post, easily.

The Celtics now have so many
big bullies I am sure they are not worried.

I don't think any team in the NBA has the strength and power the Celtics have now.

The same team that was one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA last season and just lost their 4 best rebounders? I don't understand how strength and power describes the Celtics at all.

Wow this Celtics fan sounds incredibly insecure lol. I didn't know they worried about the Sixers this much. Good to know.

Trust the Process. Always.

Whats with celtics and their exaggeration on the angle that supports their beliefs? 4D chess mentality
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I have been watching he nba for over 50years and have seen that the great players have two things in common that most people do not mention. they have the will to win and give it all every night. watched simmions in person and on tv. very talented but he will have to prove he can compete in the nba. he had a terrible coach in college so the jury is still out. I have only seen mf in summer but he has some of the same issues. I believe they will figure it out and if they both perform well then this team could be very special.

  This whole Simmons and Fultz are not born winners rubbish... is exactly that. Rubbish. Smells more like opposition fans that are jealous and badly wanting them to fail.

If they had joined Kentucky or Duke and have other elite talent around them.... suddenly that makes them winners? Simmons winning national highschool championships at Montverde and losing only 1 game in 3 years... suddenly doesn't matter when it comes to being a "winner".

You sound delusional and very insecure. You sure are on our board worrying about our team lol. I smell the fear in your posts. Don't worry. I'll teal Embiid not to destroy Boston too badly. I'll tell him to let Boston live.

Brown is a wing and Smart is a combo guard. They're both really strong for their positions but there's no way in hell any team is going to have them guard a behemoth like Embiid. Yabusele is also only 6'8 and, while I guess you could hold out hope that he develops into some kind of Draymond Green-type defensive master, nothing about his game suggests that's going to happen soon.

Also, in case you don't know, the book on your team for the past couple years is that you were really weak at interior defense and rebounding. That comes from your own fans as much as outsiders--you have good perimeter defense, great ball movement, good shooting, etc, and you just don't have those couple of things. Smart and Brown aren't helping with that, remains to be seen how much court time Yabusele can see.

Yeah but look at the advantage of being a winner at the collegiate level, just look at how much better it made Sean May's NBA career.

You guys had a good season last year, so with that comes arrogance.

You do have the right name though, tiny ball. The biggest problem with the Celts is they are tiny, I wouldn't want that many midgets to be honest. None of those 'bullies' are over 6'9" that are any good, and no Horford ain't 6'10". IF your going to be bullies, you have to actually be bigger than that.....it helps.

Simmons is taller than anyone on your team that is any good.....and he's our point guard.

I would love to throw Simmons/Fultz/Covington/Dario/Embiid out there just to see how you guys would match up, be fun to see cause after all we should want to see good basketball.

There are only two guys now on Celtics roster that are small and both are point guards..

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
