I think I have my early top 6 and it's kinda freak ****:

1) Cooper Flagg
2) Dylan Harper
3) Jeremiah Fears
4) Derik Queen
5) Ace Bailey
6) Kasparas Jakucionis
7) Egor Denim

Egor has as much potential as Ace to jump this list and be in the top 3. Both need to show more on many aspects of their game, but it's obvious the upside is there.

Harper at 2 is because he is a Paul Pierce type player to me. Seems fairly obvious he's going to be an All-NBA player at some point.

Fears has the total package right now statistically and it shows when he's on the court: 2-way player, tight ballhandler, good looking shot, gets to the FT line, finishes with both hands. He's electric; buying a lot of stock right now.

Derick Queen has a Boogie Cousins/Zach Randolph build. Face up game. Skill level is obviously elite and you can easily see how he could be a top PF in the league. Don't know anything about his personality, but he seems eccentric on the court like the aforementioned former all stars. His moves are very deliberate (in a good way, not hesitating) and he is producing at an elite level. But he's a bit of a tubby boy. Curious how that will play out.

Kasparas would be higher if he was athletic, like at all. Skill level might be the highest of all these guys, but is a bit slow footed. Reminds me of SGA at UK except without a 7' wingspan.

Top 5 would look like:

Cooper Flagg
Dylan Harper
Derik Queen
Kasparas Jakucionis
Egor Demin

This is my type of upperclassman. Nasty on defense. Shows handles. 6'6+. Shot looks good (92% from FT!). If he keeps up production or improves, he's someone I could see moving into the lottery.

I'm actually souring a bit on Tre, but I'm going to let the season play out more.

I wouldn’t expect you and Kobble to like him. Seems like (im guessing) you guys like a multi-tooled player. While I put a lot of value for efficient high volume scoring.

Tre is more on the Brice Sensabaugh and Cam Thomas archetype. But seems like he’s more efficient than both.

I had him on my top 5 early on. He’s a very skilled player with high basketball IQ. Reminds me of a bigger and better version of Podziemski, who i ranked highly back then.

Yeah, Jakucionis is very skilled and hasn't even showed a lot of what he can do yet. Is able to drive to both sides and finish with either hand.

Here's him DOMINATING against a backcourt of Egor Demin (projected #4) and Hugo Gonzalez (projected #20) just a few months ago:

Yeah, you could argue he’s better than both Demin (whose scoring remains a question mark) and Tre Johnson (who lacks an all-around game). I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the top 5.

In fact, I’m officially putting him back in my top 5.

I have Cooper Flagg, Harper and Queen in my top 3, seems like they’re the type who can dominate a game.

Then Demin and Jakucionis at top 4&5, as guys who can run the offense.

Queen is so good. Reminds me of a not idiotic UK Julius Randle. Difference being that he plays defense and doesn't have tunnel vision. Only issue with him is it appears he doesn't have a huge wingspan. Other than that, I'm all in on him as a top 5 player.

Cooper Flagg reminds me of Chet Holmgren—a versatile two-way player with star potential. However, like Chet, Flagg isn’t someone you can rely on to run an offense. You can’t build a team around him in the sense of making him your offensive centerpiece.

He’s not a LeBron-type player. His highest-upside comparisons are closer to Kevin Garnett or Anthony Davis. But if his shooting development has already peaked at 17, he might end up more like a smaller Anthony Davis or even someone like Jalen Johnson.

That said, it’s still early in his development, which is why I try not to evaluate players too much at this stage—it just creates unnecessary biases, haha.

That said, if nothing changes, I think Harper has a good chance to take the number 1 spot for me.

Feel like the top-6 dream is about to start fading fast.

Cheers to the ensuing 6 seed/1st round exit.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

What a waste if that's the result of this whole 'clearing the decks' strategy.

I'd feel 100% different with a Spurs-like tank job.

Derik Queen would be an excellent fit for the Bulls. He can seamlessly play alongside either Vucevic or Jalen Smith, and his game would thrive surrounded by their guards like Coby White, Zach LaVine, Ayo Dosunmu, and Lonzo Ball.
