Would be extremely weary about trading future draft capital in our current state.

Best chance at a ring was improving upon that 2023 squad that took Boston to 7 (and should have closed it out in G6 if Melton could hit a shot)

Best chance at a ring was the Butler team. Resign Butler; S&T Harris and dump emo Ben while he had top value. Build a team around Joel and Jimmy. That's what we should have done.

This. They play like a team where the coach and roster were blindsided by two stars missing time and weren’t remotely prepared for it. It shouldn’t be this bad. As each day goes by they’re ruining all the good grace they built up and the worst part is they don’t seem to care as an organization. They’re so blasé about it all

Take away Giannis and Dame; how's Milwaukee looking? Or Durant and Booker? Or SGA and Chet? It's not a Sixers only thing; just what happens when your 2 best go down. Joel's mystery injury is feeling so much like the David Robinson year with Tim Duncan in the draft class.

What's mysterious about Joel Embiid and his knee?

It's not a video game and he gets to spawn back in with 100% HP just because it's a new season.

No we were quite awful last year without Jo

Which makes the fact that the plan was to sign a old wing to fix that a bit daft

You'd be dead on if the point of the season was to never have a crap game on a Weds night in Oct. It's not though, we took the best swing to win a title with Embiid and this is the downside of that gamble.

I said that a bit tongue in cheek since the Sixers keep denying his knee is injured or a problem meanwhile the league's press release specifically said the team is misleading about the state of Joel's knee; meanwhile Nick Nurse today gave a horrific effort at trying to "dodge" answering what did the league mean by the org misleading on the state of Joe's knee.

The fact the draft was foreign player heavy at the top pretty much tipped us off on that. 1 foreign stud I could get; but boards had 3+ and that just tells you how bad the American class was.

I think McCain was really the only one who interested me in this draft (outside of guys projected in the top 10), sadly. So I guess that's good for me?

This team needs to remove the entire basketball hoop stanchions; detonate them and install brand new ones. I swear to god; those stanchions are cursed.

Maxey
McCain
Council
Martin
Drummond

I'd give this lineup the bulk of the minutes until PG and Embiid return. High effort, decent shooting, good creation.

I was much more of a Terrance Shannon, Jr guy. I was ok with either Knecht or McCain if we didn't go Terrance.

I'm not against it; but Nurse probably suffers an aneurysm trying to get defensive stops.

Really don't get the point of this. It's really a shock to people that we're going to have some terrible nights when 2 of our 3 offensive creators are missing? We have almost no shot creation talent outside of Maxey (who can't go nuclear every night), all the other guys are just meant to play off ball or on closeouts etc. And where in the world would people get that we're a play in team without PG and Embiid? We were on like a 28-win pace last year without Embiid, and we basically swapped out Tobias and some decent role guys for PG, who also isn't playing now.

Also the Pistons are much improved, plus they shot 42% from 3 tonight while we shot 29%. When we're not winning the 3pt lotto this is how it's gonna look without Embiid and PG.

Yes, I have higher standards than we should expect the team to get blown out by a team that might win 23 games. Let’s demand more from our sports teams. If they beat Indy the other night they need to show up and give better effort than this

He means so that we can have prime Paul George back because that’s the only thing that could save this team at this point

We didn’t take enough threes, and we didn’t crash the boards hard enough.

At this point, I’d play more of McCain, Council and Gordon and let them fire away. There’s no point in relying on wings if they’re overcommitting on closeouts, allowing opponents to blow by them. At least EG and McCain have the foot speed to contain drives and protect the paint. If Caleb and Oubre aren’t hitting shots, let the other guys focus more on taking threes. Eventually, this will open up lanes for drives to the basket.

There were numerous possessions where we’d drive, kick it out, and the shooters hesitated, leading to forced drives. It has been that way since game 1.

Tatum and Pritchard nearly matched our entire team’s 3pt attempts (Jaylen shot 1-11) tonight against the Pacers, similar to what we managed against the Pistons.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

For someone with a reputation as analytical, Morey has a bizarre frtish for wasting roster spots.
