Do you really believe that Kidd has that much pull in the organization where he can tell the FO trade Luka and the only person I want is AD. And the FO says OK coach !!!, Then Kid adds don't worry about future draft picks one will do. Don't need a whole bunch. Would not want to deplete the Lakers chance of building around Luka going forward. And so what if we trade him to a western rival. It means nothing.

Player's league, brother. If Jimmy gets re-signs with the Pelicans and wants Embiid, the Pelicans will make that move particularly because it seems they're constantly at odds with Zion. We'd likely have to give up more because of Embiid's knee and age.

Disagree. The Pelicans add to Zion for Joel. The one guy who is hurt more than Joel is Zion. And there's no way Morey agrees to salary dump Embiid (Zion's contract is UNG). And it only helps the Sixers position even more if Jimmy is there asking for Joel.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. But why does NOP trade for an aging star? It feels like it would require a 3rd team to acquire Embiid.
