Some Pelicans insider saying the next step in NOP is to trade Zion. WIll be interesting to see where he lands and what he goes for.

I assume we'll offer Embiid for Zion straight up. Doubt the Pels would accept until Embiid shows he's healthy, at which point we'll no longer make the offer.

Even if Embiid shows he’s “healthy”, I’m making that trade. That knee is a ticking timebomb, let somebody else assume that risk.

Would be extremely smart to try and sell after he played the end of the year and put up numbers. And his contract is fully unguaranteed, which lessens the risk.

The teams with pick stockpiles should all be in.

Not sure Grimes is back on that team. However, it's going to be tough for him to get paid elsewhere this year.

But I would be fine with that trade. I feel like NOP is going to want picks, though. And Embiid's value is certainly not at its peak.

Miami is not doing that.

I doubt Denver would do that, but maybe.

You’re not getting good returns on Embiid or George anymore. And we know Morey wants to run it back.

You think two 1sts is more than we'd get right now? Or are you a big Ware fan?

Agree 2nd trade more likely. I think it's more probable if the Nuggets lose R1. Or they just go for KD (doubt Phoenix would trade him there though).

Edit: really hard to match KD's salary to Denver. Would have to be a 4-for-1 (assuming no Jokic, Murray, or Gordon).

What I am saying about Embiid and George is that both of them are coming off injury riddled, underwhelming seasons. There's a good chance that right now, teams wouldn't give you any first round picks for either one of them. There are those out there that believe it would require the Sixers to add a first round pick or more to "dump" them. I am of the opinion if you're willing to just take contracts to match the salary, there's someone out there who would be willing to take the chance. But Morey seems rather intent on running this crap back, even if that's a terrible idea.

You're probably right. That being said, I hope he's been watching the playoffs and sees how young, fast teams are the present. Can you imagine our team at full strength playing someone like OKC, Indiana, or Cleveland right now? There's no way we could keep up.

I'm praying for the miracle of Flagg + a re-tool around him, Embiid, and Maxey.

PG + McCain + 2025 pick + future protected first for Giannis or KD would be a dream (if Embiid is healthy).

Which other teams could outbid us (and have enough to give)?
OKC (but they don't have big salaries to send)
BOS but they don't have picks to give except their own, which aren't worth that much?

I would say that package is fair for Giannis (plus other picks), but I'd struggle adding a 1st to PG for KD, even if it's fair on paper.

I think OKC and HOU could offer the most competitive packages for Giannis.

Not enough for Giannis and too much for KD.

I think it prudent to assume Embiid is washed, and then work back from there as necessary.

I could see Morey offering this. I don't care for it, and not sure PHX is taking it.
