This is nonsense. He'll definitely work out and get drafted by the Sixers. It's just that he'll get hit by a car or eat a sesame seed bagel without knowing he has an allergy or something and then when rehabbing will forget how to shoot.Kobblehead wrote:Fully expecting us the get the #1 pick and then Cooper Flagg refusing to work out with us or some nonsense lol.

Re: If We Lose Our Pick....
Some bad things have happened to some of my other professional sports teams in the past week-or-so (Sharks drop to #2 in the lottery / Chelsea's spot in next seasons UCL in jeopardy) and it's put me in a state of acceptance for tomorrow.

Truthfully I'm expecting something anticlimactic. We'll keep the pick and stay at #5 or fall to #6, which I consider a win anyways.

Re: If We Lose Our Pick....
Ranking the most Sixers-y outcomes of Monday night:
1. Sixers get the #3 or #4 pick. Close, but no cigar has been the name of the game for the Sixers in the process era, and keeping the pick, but not being able to get Flagg or Harper would be true to that. And it would be a situation where everyone will have to debate all summer if the Sixers should keep the player they draft(if they use the pick) or leading up to the draft, trade the pick for a veteran to try to win now. And whatever the Sixers end up choosing will be wrong.
2. Lose the pick - the Sixers tried to win in 2024-25 and are only here due to utter incompetence. Losing the pick to teams that are just bad or are trying to be bad because would be sticking it to the Sixers for trying and failing so hard. The player the Thunder draft with the pick ends up being a superstar. Sixers fans are used to things always going wrong when it matters most and this would just be more of that.
3. Sixers get the #2 pick - close, but no cigar again. The Sixers take Harper, he's really good, but the ongoing debate about just how the hell a roster with this many guards is sustainable, and naturally the heated debates begin about trading one of Maxey, McCain, Grimes, and which one to trade.
4. Sixers get the #1 pick - they've gotten lucky keeping the Maxey pick before, and won with Simmons before. So it's not like the Sixers have been devoid of any luck. It's just more often bad things happen. Maybe the universe throws the Sixers a bone for all the suffering.
5. Sixers get the #6 pick - it feels too simple and on the nose for Sixers fans. It would just be too uneventful and there's some torture waiting to see if one more team jumps you and you lose the pick. But not as torturous of finding out you jumped into the top 4, waiting for the commercial break to find out if you get the #1 pick.
6. Sixers stay at #5 - statistically the most unlikely and even more uneventful than getting the 6 pick because they don't move at all. At least with #5 if someone behind the Sixers jumps into the top 4, Sixers fans have to hold their breath and hope no one else does and that would be a little scary.

Had a dream last night that we dropped to #7, so OKC got it. But also, BOS got the #2 pick, which is impossible.

I actually had a dream last night that we drafted Danny Wolf with our pick.

Re: If We Lose Our Pick....
Two strong reasons why Adam Silver needs to give us our 2025 1st round pick:
1.OKC doesn’t need it and won’t use it meaningfully. They’re already overflowing with young talent. Ousmane Dieng has disappeared from the rotation, Nikola Topic is reduced to being a mascot taking shots at their shootarounds, and they gave away Tre Mann for nothing.
2.The East needs the Sixers. The Pacers and Cavs aren’t true contenders, and the Bucks are full of question marks heading into next season. The conference is shaky. If the Sixers miss the playoffs, the East loses serious entertainment value and so does the league.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

No doubt the NBA is a better product with the Sixers! Give us that #1 overall baby!

Yep, even if he wants to come here, we can always draft him and then he mysteriously forgets how to shoot a basketball or something like that
