Fitz deal looking less and less likely. If the Eagles miss out, will they regret not getting a guy like Donte or Berrian? I salute them going all out for the big names, but in the process, they have let a few upgrades at wideout slip through their fingers

^^^^ I don't think the Eagles will regret not going after Stallworth and Berrian. They are both average receivers.
I don't think the Eagles feel they HAVE to upgrade the WR position. However, like any good team they are willing to upgrade any position if a good opurtunity presents itself. I think this explains their attempt at Moss, and reported interest in Fitz.

i absolutely think the birds might miss stallworth for the sheer fact that they lost all aspects of a verticle game last year...the only game where they were able to hit a deep bomb was vs detroit when curtis ran wild...
dont get me wrong, brown and curtis are more than viable options for 15 yard out routes and will both catch 60+ balls and have some yards, but they dont stretch the field and thats a big aspect to mcnabbs game
also, we have issues in the redzone and some will say lj would help but this is where i think a true stud is needed...stallworth wont answer this problem but a guy like fitz would
either way, i applaud them for finally recognizing this need...only if they kept stallworth and added curtis last year, then this wouldnt be an issue

I disagree. I think they should have signed stallworth. You thought curtis was good last year, imagine him against worse corners. Ya donte was injured a bit, but nobody can debate his chemistry with mcnabb. Those 2 were on the same page and everyone knew it. His deep threat pulled alot of defenses back and opened up the middle of the field, somethign that would have been more then welcome with LJ smith coming back.

I think Stallworth might be the most overrated player by eagle fans in the history of the league. I want to state I don't think he is a bad player, and wouldn't have been upset to see him become an eagle again.
That said anyone who thinks he is anything more than an average WR is either delirious or still seduced by his 40 time at the combine 7 years ago. In six seasons in the NFL has never eclipsed the 1000 yd mark. He has played 16 games only three times. He is starting his 7th year in the league with his 4th team. He is the definition of average.

If we could get Holt for cheap (say, a 3 or 4), I would consider it.
Otherwise, I think we are going to have to go with what we've got...and perhaps the best bet might be to see if we can trade Lito to the Pats along with our 19 for their 7 and get Gholston. As the Giants showed us all, a great pass rush can make a mediocre offense look pretty good.
