Good post TK76...Jordan never shot over 40% from 3 until he was in his 30's. That's where the comparisons should end...Jordan is the best ever, but Iguodala's work ethic and improvement does need to be recognized.

I'm so happy about this win. We just got to make sure we beat the teams we are suppose to beat now. And maybe I over looked someone's post, but can someone show some love for our boy Thad?? He was having a mini struggle going on after the knicks game, and it was great to see him making huge steals on defense and finishing with ease at the rim. Once he gets that jumper down, he will be a monster.

Obviously MJ was on a different level, but he was a great example of a player whose game changed through his career. The dominant driver/athlete that entered the league in the 80's bore little resemblance to the HOF player he turned himslef into in the 90's. He even looked different, going from wiry to musclebound.

+1

I also was impressed by his drive from the 3pt line to the cup off one dribble. Watching him run is like watching a gazelle with his long effortless strides- he really covers ground.

Anyone else notice how tall he's is looking? I know we make fun of his line about growing another two inches- but he didn't exactly look short standing next to Amare. He also played decent D against him. Look at him standing next to Evans, he must be 2" taller than him.

Jersey is playing the Spurs and Atlanta is playing Boston. Barring something weird happening Sixers will have a little more breathing room after tonight.

The Suns don't suck.

The Suns played well last night.

The Sixers beat the Suns.

And...that's all I have to say about last night's game.

Thanks.

bebop:

The Suns are 2-4 since the trade.

2-4 sucks.

The Sixers beat a team that is currently sucking.

That's all I have to say.

You're welcome.

They are sucking but they played well against us. It isnt like they were blown out or didnt show up.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

The 76ers were up by 10+ in several sequences in the game.

The Suns perimeter D is the worst in the league.

The only thing a Suns fan can be grateful for is how Shaq and Amare are beastly on the front-lines.

Simple isn't it ? Just wait to see what happens and then point out the mistakes that were made. Good Job.

You just pointed out the difference between conjecture and facts. A shake up of the Phoenix roster HAD to be done to adjust to the Gasol trade +"Marion opting out this summer", but had Phoenix not traded away Kurt Thomas it might not have had to happen this way.

The REALITY of it all is that Steve Kerr has made 2 bone head trades that were terrible for the franchise so far...

If I were the GM of Phoenix perhaps I would have acquired Gasol for Kurt Thomas and the 2 first rounders. LMAOOOOOOOOoooooooo. Conjecture!

You can tell the basketball fans from the people with real basketball acumen in this thread. The basketball fans are just elated that the Sixers won and Iggy had a great game, but the people with basketball acumen realize that the Suns were 2-4 since the Shaq trade and were giving up 112 ppg over that span. The Suns stink. We were SUPPOSE to beat them!
Develop some arrogance and swagger as fans along with increasing the expectations we have for our Sixers franchise. Don't cream on yourself just because we beat the "Steve Kerrsed Suns". I really do need to create my own blog. "Steve Kerrsed" is just a priceless one. *pats self on the back*

Is there any difference in your posting negatives when Iguodala has a bad game or anyone else praising him when he has a good game?
You're equally as guilty as anyone else, just sitting at the other end of the spectrum...sitting there as a fan.

You can't compare a person discussing the REALITY of Iggy having a bad game to the CONJECTURE of a person's thoughts regarding the outlook of a trade even before the team has played any games or even a hand full of games with its newly acquired player(s). They are two completely different animals. Why aren't you capable of seeing that? :noway:

Now that I don't agree with. Especially playing at home, the Suns, though sucking, still should have won. The Sixers played an all around great game, but I think people are taking too much away from the win considering the fact that the Suns are 2-4 since the trade. Sure, they did play excellent defense and showed a lot of intesity, but those are things they've consistently done for most of the season. I just saw nothing that would make me think more of them than I did before the game. As is, imo this team is not a playoff team, unfortunately they play in a pathetic conference.

Um, I think he was comparing a person discussing the reality of Andre having a bad game with a person discussing the REALITY of Andre having a good game. Nowhere in his post did he mention anything about the Suns.

If we were supposed to win you have a lot on Vegas. We were huge underdogs in the game- more than can be simply accounted for by name bias.

Vegas does not work like that. The favorite is just that, the team that people will tend to bet on to win that game. So "odds makers" create "point spreads" to make the money fall 50/50 for that game instead of having everyone in the free world pick the favorite and have them go out of business if that team happens to actually win. The points spread along with the small house cut keeps everything running smoothly.

In reality the Suns are slower, undisciplined, with less shooting and poorer defense since the Shaq trade. The Sixers were the perfect team to beat them. Anyone with any basketball acumen would have bet money on the Sixers ESPECIALLY considering their great record on the back end of back 2 back games.

I really do not care that they were 2-3 or whatever before the game. The Suns are a good team, they played a good game (it's not like they shot 38% from the field), and the Sixers flat-out beat them.

Period.

While your glass-half-empty routine is well-established around here (and I am sure that your will have a more legitimate game to pull it out after in the future), last night's game is a pretty weak-azz time to do it, IMO.
