I hope Kate is right that half of the GMs feel his salary is in the right ball park. That should make him easier to move for a decent return than one might think.

I would be interested In Rudy Gay for Iguodala as mentioned above.
I can also see the 6ers dealing to CLE for a couple of those many draft picks they posses.

Yeah, Chandler is younger right now than Brand was when we signed him to his extension. He is 6 1/2 years younger than KG. And for whatever reason, all of Chandler's injuries have not sapped his athleticism (yet.)

I also like this trade (assuming Rudy is healthy) - I love Rudy's outside shot! I'd then move Meeks to the bench and start Turner (assuming he continues to develop).

Kaman's not bad, but I'd rather see us a get a center who is more mobile and a more dominant shot blocker.

If Kaman, Min 2012 1st has to be included.

I hate Rudy's salary and his inefficiency on offense. He is talented, but should not have gotten his crrent deal. He is on the books for 15M/16.4M/18M/19.3M. With the cap likely going down, anything past those 1st 2 years hurts the team IMO.

Offensively I see him as a big upgrade from Iguodala in the shooting department , not inefficient.

Thinking back off the top of my head I know he hit some gamewinners over the heat specifically Lebron , and another over the Spurs. I know this wont make or break the deal or wont win sides , but it is definitley a nice little side note.

I know this has been discussed before, but do you think the Lakers do Igoudala straight up for Andrew Bynum. Iggy gives them some athleticism, and can run a point-forward role along with Kobe. He is ideal for the triangle offense and is a great facilitator and defender. Bynum gives us a legit big, however, if he doesn't pan out medically, next year is a team option.

Lakers
Fisher
Kobe
Iggy
Odom
Gasol

Sixers
Jrue
Meeks
ET
Brand
Bynum

My only concern is Bynum is injury prone...then again he is only 23.
According to Magic Johnson , the lakers are about to blow that team up. He also stated they should keep Bynum and drop Gasol.
Now my question to you Koponen , do you do Iguodala for Gasol?

This is why I call Gay inefficient:

He shoots nearly 5 shots a game from 16-23 feet, and hits less than 40% on those shots. If you are going to be a high volume shooter you need to at least be good at it like Dirk(52%.) Otherwise those are bad shots. he also only makes 3 FT's a game. His eFG% has always been right about 50%, which is only average- and quite bad considering he is such a good 3pt shooter(this year.) His TS% is also about the NBA average.

So maybe inneficint is a bit harsh. But I prefer my high volume shooters to have a better eFG% and TS% than Lou Williams.

Now he has increased his shots near the rim this past year, so maybe he is improving in that area.

I'd still take Gasol for Iggy in a heartbeat. Any legitimate inside presence on this team is one more than we have now.

I think the absolute best offer from my Kings would be:

Iggy + #16

for

Casspi + #5-8(if the Kings don't hit the lotto jackpot) + the huge 14 million dollar TPE the Sixers would net as a result of the Kings being below the salary cap.

I think i would do gasol for Iguodala as well , only concern being that this year he has proved my theory right that he is SOFT. He has a great low post game , great feet for a dude that size , and his offense is very nice , but defensivley I find him to be soft. I feel like if we got him we would STILL need a defensive big.

I LOVE Pau Gasol. He's actually not that old- he's set to turn 31 next season- and his contract only runs through age 33. The only basketball-problem with that kind of move is that I don't know how well he fits with Elton. I actually think they work well defensively, but are there enough touches on offense to go to two post-oriented offensive players? Obviously, the biggest issue is whether we can make a win-now move right now. I say we can. This team, with some development of the younger players, and a premier big like Pau, could legitimately compete soon, IMO. Next year, you'd have:

Jrue - Lou
Meeks - Lou
ET - #16 pick
Brand - Thad
Pau - Hawes

and once Brand expires, you can sign a big time FA.

If they traded Iguodala for the Kings pick it would be a big risk, but they would at least get a big with potential at that spot. Likely Kanter or Bismack should be available in that range. Of course those guys might not pan out, but at least they would be on their rookie deals.

The Sixers #1 priority should be to find the Kemp for Jrue's Gary Payton.

Agree, but regardless of the pick I like the players that would come back from Sacramento as well...a SF who is an above average shooter, and a versatile big man that can rebound. My target would be Bismack for the PF of the future...rolling the dice, but the upside is tremendous.

PhilasFinest wrote:Well the rumors have officially been done via wiretap and kate fagan's latest article.

She mentions a Rudy Gay Iguodala swap.... and then the Clippers deal revolving around Kaman.

If we could get a pick or Aminu along with Kaman...id highly consider it.
Kaman would be an upgrade over Hawes i almost every facet of the game...then after the season(if there is one), he would EXP...freeing up 12.2 million in cap and freeing us of Iguodala's contract.
The following year, EB would be an EXP of 18+million...and could be a valuable trade chip(paired 12 million cap space and a youngplayer/pick could land a superstar, theres a disgrntled one almost every year). If not, we'd have 30 million in cap space 12/13 season...considering theres a high chance theres not much of a season next year...could be sooner than we anticipate.

by then, we will have a better idea of what we have in ET and Jrue...and if they can pan out, our chance at a superstar could poss be here.

Yeah, I would do Iggy for Kaman. Considering the Clips want to extend DeAndre Jordan and Kamn has been injury-prone the last couple years, a straight up swap would probably work.

Like you said, that trade sheds 2 extra years of Iggy's contract and Brand's contract comes off the next year.

With salary caps expected to reduce significantly and probably become hard caps, this would be a great move for the future.

Well the rumors have officially been done via wiretap and kate fagan's latest article.

I read the article. I think it is an example of Fagan having nothing else to write about in the offseason so she manufactures an article based on speculation. Maybe it is just me, but after reading the article it seemed to me Fagan is trying to advance her own agenda.

Granted Iguodala's answer was bizarre, but it was shortly after they got eliminated from the playoffs. His emotional state was probably a factor in his non-commital answer.

She self annoints the Doug Collins' nucleus to be Holiday, Young, Meeks and Lou. Did she get a quote from Collins saying so, or she just picking her nucleus and attributing it to Collins? No facts or examples to back up her statement. In fact it flies in the face of Collins' mantra all year: Iguodala is our best player and he's important to the team.

Plus Fagan could have made a more compelling argument. She could have mentioned that besides Iguodala's non-commital answer, Iguodala missed his exit interview. Even though it was excused due to a doctor's appointment, Iguodala never rescheduled.

To me that article is complete garbage. Just an example of lazy and incomplete journalism in my opinion. Armchair GM stuff.

The Clips could do the Wolves pick along with Foye and Gomes. This saves about $4 million instantly and a ton of money the next 3 seasons.

How about Kaman and Aminu for Iguodala and either Speights or Hawes?

The Clips want Iguodala and are going to go hard after him. Last year Philly radio mentioned that Kaman and Iguodala were almost swapper before both were injured.
