Glad to see the explosion isn't lost. Liked the one move off the dribble.

Yeah that shot off the dribble at 0:26 is pretty sweet. Showed off some nice handles.

Yep

Considering I don’t watch much college ball, I didn’t know any of our picks, but early results from last year’s draft are pretty good. Shamet was a great late first that we good value for. Zhaire and Shake are mostly injured, but I like what I see going forward. We obviously need cheap bench help and both should compete.

He reportedly can defend both guard positions, so I’d say a role on next year’s team is there for the taking.

Think about the book on Zhaire coming into the draft. --Cant dribble...cant shoot.
Think about the book On Fultz coming into the draft...elite ball handler, very good mid range shooter.

Fast forward to today ... that shot off the dribble looked more fluid than any shot Fultz has taken in his NBA career.
Can't wait to see more of Zhaire.

Absolutely love the mental/character side of him as a prospect. Seems like a tremendous learner.

Regardomg the shooting change:
“That just came naturally when I lost all that weight,” he said. “When I hit the gym for the first time, right when I put it up, it was just right there. It’s just been there ever since — it just came natural. I didn’t really put it there. It came there alone, by itself.”

With all due respect, but this worries me so much. When you lose 40 pounds of muscle you obviously do not have the necessary strength to shoot with a compact and clean stroke from three. So apparently he changed his entire mechanics because of a lack of strength due to an injury.

Aside from the outcome (which might be ok after all), that process is just plain wrong and tells me that the coaching staff hasn't learned anything from the Simmosn and Fultz shooting debacles.

Yeah, he didn't really show that last year.

I liked the trade for him, but knew he was a raw lottery ticket. His upside is almost exclusively tied up in developing an NBA handle. He had the athleticism and decent shooting form. I think he's going to be a good player.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Guys tweak their shots all the time. You are scarred by head case Fultz. Dont be.
The way Zhaire shoots now is smoother and easier to replicate IMO. He holds his shooting arm out long after his shot which is great.

I'm not arguing the tweak itself (however I do have my reservations about a shot that has a set point sideways of your head), but the process behind it is so questionable. Changing your shooting motion because you lack strength to overcome a certain range is a recipe for disaster.

Watched the Bluecoats video, the guy floats!
I’m not sweating the whole getting injured and changing his shot without input from Sixers staff - I mean what could go wrong?

Well, no one shoots square in front of their head anyway, it is always going to be off to the side a little. Try it, you will see what I mean.

Zhaire is a perfect running mate with Ben

He has to be a better player than Jonathon Simmons or Ennis RIGHT NOW.
I hope he gets added to the rotation for the playoffs.

if he's anywhere near as much a dog on the defensive end as he says he's prioritizing, he should at least get some minutes just prior to make his case.

He has been recalled to play tonight. Will probably only play if it is blowout.

I think we should audition him for the final 10-15 games of the season the same way we did Fultz. It's worth a shot. That article has me hyped now. Can't wait to see him play.
