If we cant win a game 7 at home against the wizards without him we wouldnt go far in the playoffs anyways..

There's literally a 2 day difference between when Round 2 starts based on winning in 5/6 vs. 7. I have no idea what you're talking about.

Ben Simmons is about to suit up.

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

If they lay an egg without Embiid they wouldn't have won anything anyway because the character wouldn't have been there. With or without Embiid, they aren't beating the Nets with a team that doesn't rise to the occasion emotionally and compensate when a key player is hurt.

All about? Um, they're all about having the most dominant big man lead the team with a couple of other very good players. I don't expect anything when he's out really. Btw, the Nets and Bucks are currently 0-0. Let's see what happens before advancing them to the ECF.

The point is that the only way they're getting by the Nets (if they make it that far) is with an emotional advantage generated by player leadership and passion, and playing poorly without Embiid indicates they wouldn't possibly have had one.

But players naturally play much differently without their MVP teammate is on the court. They could all play above their individual expectation and still fall flat. You can't really say (sans Embiid) "this team just didn't have the emotional advantage and leadership to win anyway" when he's sitting on the sidelines. A team's best player is the main cog in the machine. Same for the Bucks if Giannis goes out, or Curry/Warriors, Lebron/Lakers, Durant/Nets, etc.

I expect the Sixers to win tonight but no other expectations after this series if Joel is out.

I love Embiid. He's my favorite Sixer since Iverson, but man! He is made of glass. It's a damn shame too! Who knows, maybe Simmons can take over. I doubt it.

Ben Simmons's year-to-year statistics make it appear as though he's done no training of any kind.

Guess I was wrong. Read on multiple tweets that lateral is less serious and can be managed. Not sure if you can do more damage but it sounds like it's a pain tolerance thing. It'll be interesting to see the level of Joel that we get. But yeah this definitely sucks. Poor guy.

What I mean is that if they go out there and lack fire and lose convincingly, it'll be highly indicative of a team that would've wilted against the best teams in the league even with Embiid.

K nvm. This is not what I want. Another bunkum situation. Hopefully it's such an insignificant tear.

Ughgg

Article says that if it's old better chance of not making it worse.

Why ugh? Article is optimistic that the tear is old and therefore can be managed without surgery and without much risk. Then it can be dealt with in the offseason. That's best case and means he could be back, near 100%, as soon as the start of the Hawks series.

Because it's only hope that it's an old injury. And there is a slight chance of making it worse, although that seems less likely if it's old. Just annoying that we'll be playing the will he won't he play game through out these playoffs. I really feel for the guy. I also do think he needs to go back to Aspetar to train him on how to land for dunks, and he needs to lose 5-10 more lbs. This is him at his best, and it's dominant and MVP. A little more healthy, and it's clear cut. Mensiscus if treated well will be fine. If not, you have another Andrew Bynum situation on your hands.

I was never in doubt about him playing. They say he's day to day, and at worst he misses game 1 of the Atlanta series.

Until further news comes out, I expect him back in the Atlanta series. And we can win that without him anyway.

So cautiously optimistic.

Although our sordid history of injury reporting in the past decade does not inspire confidence lol.
