Nah.. just sit it out. I dont expect him to be better than James Ennis this season.

Same, but I thought he could possibly guard opposing point guards better than anyone on our roster. Maybe get some TJ minutes some nights.

I also don’t think zhaire can be better than TJ. TJ was one of our best guys in +/- when Biid was out. TJ also has been shooting very well. TJ’s probably our most reliable mid range shooter.

If TJ is problematic with Ben, zhaire will be worse. Hell.. shamet and ben pairing was a nightmare.

All that and you factor in that we have to solidify this 3rd place that we can’t go on an experiement on zhaire then one day regret why we did that

I don't knock TJ for energy or a little coherence off the bench, but this team could surely use some perimeter defense. Some three balls and cuts to the basket for a couple of solid slams wouldn't hurt either. I would regret not giving this kid at least the opportunity to prove he could do that prior to the post season.

Zhaire has made exactly zero threes in 80 minutes of playing time. I like the kid, but he's raw, even for a 19 year old rookie. Even if he could provide some solid perimeter defense (which I doubt since there's a lot more factors involved than being able to stay in front of your man), he'd be a massive negative on the other end. Jonathan Simmons would probably dominate the G-League and he shouldn't play for us tbh.

Yeah at this point in the season it's probably not the best time to play him. I doubt he's ready and the team needs to get some rhythm for the playoffs.

I think they should play him some minutes strategically for defense in games, initially, where
he won't affect the outcome. If he could get 10 games under his belt/5-10 minutes/game, he
might be able to defend somebody like Rozier in the playoffs when TJ isn't cutting it.

His inexperience will certainly be a problem - fouling a poor shooter on the three-point line -
but his athleticism might come in handy in certain situations.

As long as he doesnt kiss his mom on the mouth and have Jackie Chiles as his agent, I feel confident his audition will turn out well.

I don't think it's fair to expect anything from the kid this year. Even before his near death experience, he was a very raw prospect. However... I don't see what it would hurt to give him a little run for the rest of the regular season. Just to get him used to the speed of the game and to give the starters more rest. Brett really has to stop Thibsing his guys. Don't care if it's a close game, can't be using Harris and Ben 36+ (and Jo 34!) minutes in a (EDIT: March) game against a tanking team.

He is using them because sadly, he has to.
If Jo plays 32 minutes against the Cavs, they lose the game.

Yes, but to what end? It''s like winning the battle and losing the war. If the bench crew can't cover 80 combined minutes... (you can finish that thought how you like.)

I hear you man, but if they play the Nets or Celtics in the first round that could be a brutal end to this season.
The Bench sucks, what can you do.

catch 22 for Brett. he plucked the most athletic guy in the draft, and despite 2 catastrophes the kid is ready to take a stab at something the team really needs (perimeter D), but this roster of stars is so askew that we can't even generate some decent garbage time against the league's doormats. (Shake potentially could be valuable his own self.)

I assume Brett thought last nights game would be a blow out and he could get Zhaire a couple minutes.

The Sixers have a soft schedule to finish the year so there's no doubt he'll play at some point.

hate to say, nothing earth shattering last night with the Coats, though he did prevent a last second hoop that allowed the chance for a 3 to send the game into overtime. on the other hand, Shake was fantastic, again. not that we could use a real pg on the main squad.

not sure if Shake is any good on defense at the NBA level.

He was excellent on defense last time he played for the Sixers.

"Milton should be able to guard multiple positions because of his length. He is effective using that length to contest shots, and the hooplens.com data speaks volumes about his value on the defensive end, where the Mustangs were 14 points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor."

Wondering why he isn't on the team currently if that is the case. Can he be any worse than Jonathon Simmons ?
