Not only is he mobile, long and athletic. He might even have a promising jumper

Granted he's a second round, but I think a perfect example of a great pick by us was Isaiah Joe. Volume three point shooter with 10+ AST%, not a horrendous FTr, good length, 2+ STL%, scored at a decent volume and fairly young (under 21).

He's doing really nothing for us (so far). If we dropped him like a sack of potatoes, I don't think anyone would really lose too much sleep over him. If he had panned out, we'd have a stud shooter on our hands. We can now move on and fill his spot with a proven vet if we want to.

Springer was another good one. Statistically at Tennessee, he had star upside. We should know by the end of next season what we have in him. If he fixes that jumper, we have at minimum, a stud role player who plays elite defense, has some ball skills and ability to finish through contact. If he doesn't, then we can look for ways to move on from him and back fill his position with proven talent or another shot at a star in the draft.

Drafting a guy with the intention to become a role player is like grooming a player to produce for another team. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Locking in on Wendell Moore at #23.

- 6'5 w/ 7' wingspan
- incredible off ball cutter and really uses that length to finish at the rim and generate steals
- +20% assist rate (indicates he's a willing passer and can make some plays from the pick and roll)
- consistently great free throw shooter all three years

Not the homerun swing, and I wouldn't be mad if we did attempt one. But I see a pathway where Moore is a contributor and playoff starter within the next two seasons and a player that James Harden would love to play with.

He does need to up that volume from deep, and I believe he has the form and ability to do so.

Also an immediate upgrade on Thybulle that either allows you to maximize him as an asset this summer, or to relieve him of some responsibility as a starter if we wanted to dial back his role.

Moore, Thybulle, Reed, Bassey and Springer are a stable of young guys that project to be able to hold their own defensively in a high pressure playoff setting.

I can't say I'll be disappointed if we leave this draft with him. Shows distribution ability, two way player... He definitely feels like a role player in the league, but his numbers leave room for stardom.

I'll be pretty happy with any one of Moore, TyTy, Jalen Williams, and Rollins of the guys who might be at our pick.

Yea, you've got to raise your eyebrow at the raw points he put up, but players of his ilk at a school like Duke will always sacrifice the ball for the 5 star recruits.

This video was really dope.

He's showing at least some ability to put the ball on the floor and make plays in a way I've not seen from a Matisse Thybulle or a Danny Green. There's a player in there.

I’m so in on Wendell Moore. I think he’s an awesome all around player that can be a rotation guy quickly and impacts the game in multiple ways. I also think he’s the type of player who will thrive in a more open NBA style offense.

He’s shown great progression, super high IQ, and he’s a great defender. I feel pretty confident that he ends up being an elite role player and getting that at 23 is a huge win.

He also elevated his game a decent amount in the ACC/NCAA tourney (8 games).

Nice find. I also like him at our spot

I feel like he wouldn't fit your prerequisite as a prospect as much as Liddell, Hardy, Eason and Rollins would in terms of scoring production.

I think our biggest gap is that we don’t have players that serve as connectors on this squad and Moore is a great prospect in that mold. A player like him would make our bench unit flow a lot better offensively when there isn’t as much gravity being generated by our stars.

Two guys i like that are high on Warp. Kessler and Keegan.

I also see chet as a once in a decade caliber draft prospect, something ive mentioned before.

And same thing with Pelton, i was never impressed by banchero. Not a fan of him at all.

Found this on magic board

https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/insider/story/_/id/34055752/2022-nba-draft-ranking-top-30-prospects-based-stats-scouting

Top 30 prospects:

Spoiler:
1)Chet Holmgren
Power forward | Gonzaga
Top 100: No. 1
Stats: No. 1

Consensus: 4.4 WARP

There's no change at the very top of my projections, with Holmgren still the top-rated in both the stats-only version and the consensus projections. Holmgren's versatility stands out. He's the first prospect ever in my database to project to block at least 5% of opponent 2-point attempts and take at least 30% of his own shots from 3-point range. Add in projected 59% accuracy on 2-point attempts and Holmgren figures to make a big impact at both ends even if he's not the kind of dominant creator who usually ranks atop draft boards.

2)Jabari Smith
Power forward | Auburn
Top 100: No. 2
Stats: No. 7

Consensus: 3.3 WARP

The one minor concern about Smith as a top prospect is his solid but unspectacular efficiency. Smith's projected .545 true shooting percentage as an NBA rookie is weaker than league average (.566). To become the dominant scorer he's got the potential to be, Smith will have to turn more of his long 2-point attempts (he shot 38.5% on 2s outside 17 feet, per Synergy Sports tracking) into 3s, which he made at a 42% clip -- or an effective field-goal percentage of 63% when accounting for the extra point.

3)Keegan Murray
4)AJ Griffin
5)Dyson Daniels
6)Walker Kessler
7)Bennedict Mathurin
8)Tari Eason
9)Jeremy Sochan
10)Shaedon Sharpe

11) Paolo Banchero
Power forward | Duke
Top 100: No. 3
Stats: No. 35

Consensus: 2.1 WARP

While the other two top prospects in this year's rankings are 1-2 overall in the consensus projections, Banchero falls outside the top 10 because of his unspectacular stats-only projection. Banchero wasn't as efficient as Holmgren and Smith. He was more accurate on long 2s than Smith (45%, per Synergy Sports) but not nearly as good from 3-point range (34%). Improvement there will help Banchero become an elite scorer. He could also stand to improve his impact on defense.

12)Jaden Ivey
13)Jalen Duren
14)Kennedy Chandler
15)Patrick Baldwin Jr.
16)Christian Braun
17)Malaki Branham
18)Mark Williams
19)Trevor Keels
20)Johnny Davis
21)Peyton Watson
22)Blake Wesley
23)Hyunjung Lee
24)Gabriele Procida
25)Jabari Walker
26)Josh Minott
27)Dalen Terry
28)TyTy Washington
29)Jacob Gilyard
30)EJ Liddell

For reference, here's how Chet/Bari place in Pelton's all-time rankings (dating back to 2006):

Spoiler:
1)Luka Doncic - 6.1
2)Anthony Davis - 5.5
3)Kenneth Faried - 5.1
4)Dejuan Blair - 5.0
5)LaMelo Ball - 4.8
6)Zion Williamson - 4.7
7)Kevin Love - 4.6
8)Chet Holmgren - 4.4
9)Blake Griffin - 4.2
10)James Harden - 4.2
11)Kyrie Irving - 4.2
12)Alperen Sengun - 4.2
13)DeMarcus Cousins - 4.1
14)Steph Curry - 3.9
15)Kevin Durant - 3.7
16)Michael Beasley - 3.7
17)Ricky Rubio 3.7
18)Greg Oden - 3.6
19)Lonzo Ball - 3.6
20)Marcus Smart - 3.6
21)Nerlens Noel - 3.6
22)Tyrus Thomas - 3.6
23)Zhou Qi - 3.5
24)Tyrese Haliburton - 3.4
25)Dragan Bender - 3.4
26)Clint Capela - 3.4
27)Jabari Smith - 3.3
28)D'Angelo Russell - 3.3
29)Jusuf Nurkic - 3.3
30) Dante Exum - 3.3
31)Derrick Williams - 3.3
32)Gordon Hayward - 3.3
33)Greg Monroe - 3.3

What's #10 Shaedon Sharpe's WARP? I'd imagine it's pretty high since he's beating out 2 consensus top 5 players (Banchero and Ivey).

Seems like there’s a consensus forming that Branham goes to the Cavs at 14 which I love for their team. Him + Garland + Mobley is an elite young trio.

Whatever we do, I hope we don't draft/sign Kai Sotto. Don't know much about him as a prospect, but if you search his name on YouTube and filter by "new", it's complete insanity: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=kai+sotto&sp=CAI%253D

There's a lot of conversation about the conspiracy of the NBA not allowing him to be a top prospect in this draft. I'm not sure I can deal with another player only fan base flooding the board, especially an UDFA.

They can be the scout team to help those 3 improve.

I'm still shocked that teams could see how Devin Booker and Tyler Herro could conjure up remorse for the teams that passed on them and then go ahead and let Branham slide to the teens.

He comes from my country. He’s soft. He’s just doing pre-draft just to be able hype his value on playing overseas. He’s not NBA quality

Got it. Just felt really weird how defensive Filipinos were being about him on all forms of social media.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
