Hey guys, after yesterday's Celtics game where Tatum was underwhelming, Embiid has now officially surpassed him, 9.16RPM vs 9.09 RPM! Embiid is now the best player in the league!

ALWHOREFRAUD with 2pts and 5Rebs against the young explosive baby rockets lol. Im still tight the sixers lost that last game to celtics. Terrible loss in the grand scheme of things.

Sadly, we are mostly a team of older shorter unathletic wings.

Our short guys are limiting Tatum and Jaylen a combined +-42pts compared to their +-56pts average.

The guys who’s been killing us are Brogdon, Derrick White and cross match issues in transition that has been leaving Horford open. Our bench scoring also should step up. Maxey can revert back to Minimizey.

The problem is the sixers overload on Tatum and Brown leaving the other guys open and we aren't quick or athletic enough to recover to the open man when the ball is moving. Tatum is a good enough playmaker to make the right play when the defense converges.
This is why long athletes are key when defending them who not only can defend straight up but also get out to contest shooters, lob threats. Most of Tatum and Browns offensive game is being able to get to their spots and shoot over their defender with their above average length , size and athleticism. We have Tobi and Tucker who although solid man to man defenders ; offer no rim protection , struggle to get out on the break defensively and recover in the half court when the ball swings out to the peremiter.

McDaniels giving some solid mins on both ends would be a huge plus. He can defend both J's and also get easy buckets and run-outs something that the other role players seem to struggle with against this team.

I think we're gonna need to run several minutes of Mcdaniels/Embiid/Tucker/Harden on the playoffs. Drtg tends to increase on the playoffs and we have little defensive flexibility on the wings.

The issue with those units is that playing McDaniels/Tucker with Embiid is gonna destroy our spacing.

The fifth person on that unit should be Niang. But of course that makes defensive coverages much harder.

Denver gets hammered again with Jokic getting worked on D.

Stars are aligning for an Embiid MVP and Finals run.

Agree, but Embiid needs to have a good run in the last games, last season he had poorer showings against Jokic and Giannis IIRC.

I think Jokic is getting exposed & teams have solved their defense. Malone is gonna have to figure something out or their Finals hopes are done.

They need to trade MPJ. Then just load their offense at the backcourt while pairing Jokic with defensive 3&4.

They might even just go with..

Jamal Murray
KCP
Bruce Brown
Aaron Gordon
Jokic

Something like that. Then they have Murray and Jokic as creators on offense

My only concern is Giannis and the Bucks. He's not letting up. Yeah he's missed more games, and will probably miss more, but the dude is a machine, and the Bucks might have the 1 seed locked up. They're 19-2 in the last 21 games. Giannis could easily snatch the MVP from Embiid imo, he really needs to win those matchups against the Nuggets/Bucks/Celtics to solidify.

The kings are the only team in the entire western conference with a winning record on the road.

Doesn’t matter. Saltics are faltering. We are going to hunt them down for the #2 seed.

I would hate to have to deal with the Clippers in the playoffs. They are really not as bad as their record indicates. Playing against Kawhi in a 7 game series is a nightmare.

Should be Harris, over Tucker. Tucker and Jalen are terrible spacers, in that even if they make a couple of shots they're not going to hold their defender. Hell, maybe Melton?

Tucker and McDaniels have a combined only 12 clutch baskets.

Tobias has made 42 clutch baskets with 61.9 efg% in clutch.

Sixers has second best DRtg in crunch time with 93.6 NetRtg, is better than Celts and Bucks. Has third best DRtg in 4th qtr at 108 DRtg.

Sixers two best line-ups has Tobias and Tucker on the floor.

Tobias and Tucker are reliable corner 3 shooters and have been proven to be reliable man to man defenders.

Think about a time this season when either or both of them was a weak link on defense? I cant remember any, if there was its because of poor shooting or a very rare occurrence.

A lot of our successful defensive and offensive scheme is because of Tobias and Tucker.

Defense.

how many percent is the difference between an elite wing defenders dfg% between Tobias or Niang and an elite wing defender? 5%? 10%?

You are not really stopping anyone from stopping these days, you are just making a small dent. A small difference in dfg% or ppp. Morey talked about this in his interview with eskin.

But in terms of shooting, replacing someone who shoots 40-50% on corner 3s to a guy who shoots 30% on corner 3s is a world of difference.

Thats why you even see Niang closing games. If Niang is on rhythm, he would be more useful than guys like Jaden Mcdaniels (yes, the better version of Jalen)

That should explain to you what we’re doing
