Re: 76ers 2023-24 Season Thread Part 2
Before the Warriors signed KD, Danny Leroux wrote this big article about how it could happen. Where is all the theorycrafting on Morey's big summer? What am I missing here? What is the best case scenario?

This has been explained to death...
Without contracts to move the picks are not movable either, which is why we're forced to resign Hield and whoever we get on the buyout market.

You guys are funny. Welcome to the dark side.
The star chasing fraud is selling false hope to the owner and fans.
What exactly was the point of the House trade?
Get ready for some Terq and Council minutes.

If Morey resigns Hield who turns 32 next season ,its been a waste of his entire cap space plan... Keeping Maxey on his rookie deal to have more cap space for what? A guy who was having his playing time cut in Indiana? Now that guy needs to get "paid" to make this deadline A success?

I have changed my grade of this deadline from 'meh' to 'huh?'

They will become movable once you fill your team with salaries. They have a variety of options at their disposal now.
They can take on players other teams want to get rid of with picks attached.
They can sign players and trade them later once they become eligible.
They can get involved in multi team trades where players and assets are rerouted.
They have options. And if Morey goes into the summer and it looks like he had no plan and wasn't able to do anything with the money, again, it's not like they passed on some amazing trade and lost out on it. All it would do is reinforce that the guy sucks, which I've been saying for a few years now.

Dinwiddie or Lowry as a buy-out addition? Who do you take?

Can you explain?
If there will be lowry its easy. Can live with payne too. Needed back some Second rounders.
Likely means Kyle for sure. There is some redundancy there. Payne is a real point guard that can cut some of Maxeys minutes
Bev will be missed though

Dinwiddie doesn't shoot. Picking him up would likely be a mistake imo.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Now we need BOTH Dinwiddie AND Lowry.

We're gonna have 60$ million in cap space next season, if you keep Hield for let say 15$, that's a contract you can move with all the picks you have while still having 45$ con cap space left.
He covers a necessity so he obviously was traded with the idea to keep him.
