I finally had to just block the guy. I’m convinced he’s just a really committed & effective troll after the “expert on human nature” bit.
Bum Adebayo must be raging with jealousy seeing this guy’s success.

I couldn't take it after a while, and snapped. You're right, this is like Bum's wet dream come to life.

I honestly think Ferry is one of the best posters here, he always bring good insights and well thought arguments. I must admit I'm not on his level.

Pretty much any team is nigh impossible to beat when they are hitting most of their shots.

NBA promoting viewers to betting ruined it IMO
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Yes but they have so much depth and good players who can shoot from top to bottom is why they were picked as the best team by almost everyone at the start of the season. On pure talent they are the best in the league

He's probably more upset about being buried alive than anything related to gambling.

No doubt, but the same can be said for every sport. With dwindling viewership and fan interest compared to years past along with exploding costs, they had to come up with another revenue stream to sustain the monster, one that didn't require being an 'avid fan'.
So they made a deal with the devil.

ESPN’s hands are going to be very red when a massive spike of mental health crisis occurs due to their talking heads giving their prop bets every 20 minutes reminding you to burn your cash from the comfort of your living room.

And TNT with their little box in the corner of the screen with Kenny and Chuck doing the same.

Micky/ESPN does not care if the streets
are red with blood. As long as I get more cheese I don't care...."oh Minny anyway you can make that public service announcement about gambling smaller and more transparent so it fades into the back ground?"

Re: Playoffs!?
2 good things happen if Boston goes back to the NBA finals. 1. They get beat by Denver which is awesome. 2. You're bound to hear somebody refer to joker as the real MVP, sometime in the series. 3. Embiid gets to see Joker move the ball around so much better than he does. Hopefully 2 and 3 resonate with Embiid.
Oh look a bonus reason too.

1. I would rather the celtics not make it.
2&3 are going to happen anyway.
I believe the Nuggets would beat the Heat handedly not so sure about the Celtics.

A fourth reason would be they will likely keep Mazzulla if they win this series.

I find these guys are not just playing a sport now. Vegas isn’t just an oddsmaker but I find them to have some hand in some of these games.
And as a player, its impossible to not get your play affected with those prop bets. Its also impossible the guys around these players aren’t involved with all the betting.
I look at this playoffs and there’s a lot of “fishy” upsets.
Speaking of which, vegas would win a lot if Celts pulls an upset here.
They already did with the Heat beating the Bucks.

Oh, no doubt. It's impossible to see some of the stuff that goes on, not just in basketball but in all sports, without thinking there is something else at play.
What made me laugh was those NFL players getting suspended and the league decrying the fact that it's becoming a "problem". The players said they had no idea they were breaking any rules, and who can blame them? The NFL promotes this garbage 24-7-365, but a guy can't make a bet on a horse race or something?

Good solid points. Let me just add this. The league is about to suspend Ja Morant for a while and rightfully so. Because So many kids look up to him and he's presenting a bad image for the NBA. Meanwhile the same kids are being socialized to understand betting and gambling at a very young age through sports / the NBA. But we're not worried about that are we Adam Silver.

Yeah, really. Pro sports all sold their souls long ago when greed and the business aspect overtook the actual sports and competition side.
Once the players began demanding their piece of the pie, it was like a snowball that became an avalanche, where gouging their customers in every way, from tickets, parking, concessions, and merchandise to destroying TV broadcasts with commercial after commercial while they changed rules further dumbing down the games.
Integrating gambling was as easy as breathing to these whores. Now they rake it in even from those who might not necessarily be fans, but love to gamble. And the players are just as complicit, but they got more money and the right to smoke weed in the new CBA, so what do they care?
