Suns trade: VC partially guaranteed $18m, RoLo expiring, Pietrus expiring
Sixers trade: EB, AI, $3m cash?

Works in the checker. You guys clear a ton of cap space after next season. Collins has 1 year to bring RoLo back from the dead. Unless Phx gets a godfather offer for Nash they are committed to him and will extend Hill. They already have an "age defying" culture of good citizens and EB/AI would fit nicely. Beyond the Nash era AI and Brooks could make a very good tandem with their skill sets complimenting eachother nicely on paper.

Gauves13, if you are a Suns fan you must know that Sarver is allergic to actually taking on contracts/dollars. Doesn't he sell the Suns 1st rounder every other year for cash?

I would agree that is the outside perception but the reality is that while he hasn't always spent wisely he has spent. As long as the team is under the Lux Tax Sarver will be willing to spend. Unless PHX gets an offer they can't refuse for Nash they will keep him and extend Grant Hill. That means they are still committed to winning and will try to surround them with complimentary pieces. AI obviously has ties to Arizona and Sarver is also a U of A alum. Both of these guys really fit into the "good guy" image that PHX has worked hard to cultivate. While EB may be seen as a negative addition for some teams PHX may see him as a great fit on and off the court. They need some more inside scoring and Brand can still give that.

The team also continues to talk about improving on the defensive end and the addition of AI would give PHX a very good defensive rotation on the wing of AI, GH, Dudley, and Chilldress. Combine that with huge improvements on the glass with Gortat, EB and the drafting of Ken Farried at #13 and this squad could compete with anyone on the backboards.

I agree with F-Stop 100%
On top of everything he said , Milsap is supposedly moving to SF anyways because he is 6'7. We already have enough undersized 4's. I like Milsap , he is a good player , but he is not for this team. Another good point that was made is that Utah does have Derrick Favors. I could see an Al Jef swing especially after they shipped of D Will in the middle of the season. Nobody saw that coming but it happened. Utah would have one hell of a defense with Iguodala and AK47 on the floor at the same time.

Lemme jus add onto this by saying , Utah does have a surplus of bigs , I would almost be willing to trade Iguodala for Favors. He is kinda what I am looking for in the respect that he is a young legitimate big man , and by legit I mean he isnt a swing player and there is no question he is a 4 and could probably run the 5 as well being that he is 6'10

Where else can the 76'ers save $12m next season and almost $50m in 12/13 but with PHX? Most teams with enough cap space to absorb both EB and AI aren't interested in older players. The Suns training staff know how to get the most out of older guys who are willing to put the work in.

So by your logic, are the Suns trying to draw on their geriatric demographic :)

I guess the term "Phoenix" (rebirth) is apt. Maybe the Phoenix Setting Suns?

It just makes sense that if the team is willing to commit to Nash and Hill remaining on the team they are going to do whatever they can to help them compete now. The F.O. has consistently used the term "reload" as opposed to rebuild. They aren't in teardown mode.

You guys really aren't going to get a guy like Favors or Bynum for Iggy. Its just not going to happen. But, that report from the Inquirer that he makes $56M over the next three years is erroneous. That figure mistakenly adds in his $12.7M salary for this year. He actually will pull down $44M over the next three years, assuming he exercises the $15M player option in year three.

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/philadelphia.htm

So, he is much more tradable than I thought. For the Jazz though, I would much rather keep Jefferson. The man is a beast in the post, and players like that just don't come around very often. Team him with Favors, and we're fairly set on the frontline. No reason to mess that up, considering the draft assets we hold which can be used to fill the admittedly glaring hole on the wings.

Some of you have mentioned deals which look like salary dumps; I'm sure you'll do much better than that, unless you use Iggy as incentive for someone to take Brand. Good luck in any case, and I definitely wouldn't mind Iggy playing for Utah.

Sad as it is I think Chris Kaman is the best we can get for Iguodala. I would take it and run at this point. We need a center bad.

I think with the Lakers implosion that Bynum or Gasol may be realistic options. Bynum's value is lowered by his injury history, as well as his childish/dangerous antics. He's thrown an elbow at G. Wallace, Beasley, and Barea now. As for Gasol, apparently there's a rift between him and Kobe, and he was affected by the off-the-court breakup with his fiancee. Gasol's not too popular in LA right now, although its a pipe-dream that we could get him.

And if we trade for Kaman, that's exactly what we'll be saying in a few years.

Cliff Levingston posted it in another thread, but from the Bulls, Cliff Levingston would offer Omer Asik, Ronnie Brewer, CJ Watson, Keith Bogans and the Charlotte 2012 1st round pick. Brewer is a good defender off the bench until he expires next season (if you want him to; team option). Watson is a good back up PG even though you don't need him and also has a team option after next year. Bogans has a team option this year. The Charlotte 1st is protected but will almost certainly deliver a lottery pick in the next few years. Omer Asik is young, huge, athletic and already a very good post defender; he'll be an immediate anchor for your D while also having plenty of room to improve further.

Yup, trade him(see tony allen aka bruce bowen making that same team). Iguodala is an excellent defender but we can get a solid defensive wing for half of his money. Also he is our best assest to aquire something to get us to another level. He plays the most common position in the NBA it's always somebody at the 2/3 coming up. We lose nothing by way of offense when he's gone.

Yuck! I like the big and the pick but we can't take on non-shooting wings to play with Jrue and Evan.

Watson is a great shooter and Brewer would be your best perimeter defender. Both are expiring contracts anyway mostly included as salary filler, so using those two as a reason for rejecting a deal is pretty stupid.

As a Laker fan, I would be willing to offer Gasol for Iguodala and Holiday..

But I'm sure the inclusion of Holiday would make Philly say no...
