Re: The Tom Moore Thread
Man, I remember when I emailed Tom once about a Sixers question that I had from my high school's library, as a student at Central High. Must've been like 2003 or something. It was about Iverson I believe. And he promptly replied.
Anyways, that was just an aside. Back to this news, hopefully Saric joins this year so we can see the full squad in action. And as always, Tom, the more news about Embiid, the better.

Truth is on the side of the oppressed.

Re: The Tom Moore Thread
This is a non-story. It's just a beat writer rehashing stuff already known from an anonymous source without inside Intel, giving his 2 cents. I guess Tom was in need of clicks. Well, he got them.

Re: The Tom Moore Thread
It's Tom's job to report it, can't blame him for doing so. That being said, how the source refers to the situation, he doesn't seem involved, at least.

But what's to report really? Like I said, nothing more than others (and him too) have already said. He can use common sense. For me, it's clickbait. There's no other news besides summer league recently. A man needs clicks. But he isn't the only one. Pompey it's worst in that aspect.

that's the problem with 24/7 cable/online "news". but this story has generated anger at Saric for breaking his word, and selfishly demanding a trade, refusing to earn a starting spot. if that were really true, i'd be disappointed in him and inclined to think "good riddance". but if this is just someone posting the uninformed opinion of someone with no actual knowledge of the situation, who he happened to run into when he can't dig up an actual story...

Can we talk about how your "source" is still
insisting that Saric is staying in Europe even after Saric himself after his game tonight said he's coming over to play for the Sixers?
I know you're just doing your job, but some things are better left unsaid.

Both the Saric and unhappy Okafor "stories" are unattributed but effective as clickbait. I am disappointed in Tom.

Re: The Tom Moore Thread
well, we got Jah's response last night in a series of tweets. mainly, he really likes the team. and he poses the question back to those who are hopping on this story, how can he be both angry about being drafted by Philly and angry about being traded by Philly? but mainly the question is, if you want to know what Jah is thinking, why wouldn't a team reporter just ask him, instead of depending on an unnamed source?

Thanks rzzzzz, Jahs tweets were interesting, but not surprising. Philly is a tough media town. Running Jah out of town prior to seeing how he meshes with Ben Simmons would be a colossal mistake. Given that Jah just finished his rookie year there should be no rush to trade him. The narrative that the roster must be balanced now is pretty flawed.

timeframe. maybe Tom's source was right at x time but there's a delay on the validity of the stories relative to time. It happens all the time.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Ouch.
Whether you agree with the take or not, I appreciate Tom sharing it here very much.

HW when Tom does some research he is as good a writer as there is in the Philadelphia area. When he relies on rather dubious anonymous sources, without any apparent confirmation or followup, he slides to the John Smallwood/Stephen A. Smith clickbait level.
The Saric and Okafor articles were beneath him.
It is not the take, it is the straight up lack of effort. Sorry to disagree.

Is this reliable? I think we need Iverson or Duncan to confirm this. Won't believe otherwise.

Refers to Sixers getting No. 2 pick in 1997, when Duncan went No. 1.
