No one is untouchable but it would take a package that could get the opposing GM fired for us to move him. Offensively, he's the perfect 3rd guy.

He’s essentially untouchable because players this good just don’t get dealt on their rookie deals.

I'd still be open to dealing him if it's the primary piece to a stud 2 way wing (stud today, not potential), but no one trades that archetype so effectively he's off the table. I wouldn't trade him for any similar sized guard and definitely not a big.

He's gonna be and might already be that player you'd trade him for. I wouldn't trade him period. Can't believe it's even being discussed. Kids only getting better and he's already unreal. The path he's on is top 5 no bs. That's not something you move on from for anyone

Top 5? I love Maxey as much as anyone here but wwoww lets chill a bit.

He wont get traded, there is no point in arguing about this. Players this good dont get traded in their rookie contract. Hes just too valuable.

I didn't say he is now. He's on the way and how can you deny it. Did you just not watch the entire regular season or playoffs yet? And no I won't chill lol no reason he can't be top 5 soon enough. He's already got almost all the moves and shots let's get real for a moment

Lol i think you don't understand how good and impactfull a top 5 NBA player is.

He isnt even the most promising player in his Draft Class.

Still, kid is very good and we are very lucky. Hes going to be a very good player for a long time. Plus, drafting well is one of the keys in building a championship team. You need that cheap under control talent.

Top 5 is a stretch (Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Luka have 4 spots on lock for years). But he does have a path to top 15-20 which is pretty incredible.

Yep, top 15/20 is his ceilling right now.

If he gets there it would be amazing for us, and insane value considering where he was picked.

I understand just fine. You obviously don't believe in him like some. Just cause they have it "locked up" now doesn't mean someone else can't pass them. Kids only getting better and he's unreal right now. Sit back and enjoy the growth and don't be shocked

Top 10-15 isn't his ceiling that's his floor. Top 5 would be his ceiling...

To be a top 5 player at his size you either need to be Steph (GOAT shooter) or prime Point God Chris Paul. I haven’t love a player as much as I love Maxey since I was a kid watching AI. But let’s be a little realistic here lol

Maxey's ceiling probably is a Beal variant. Just a bucket getter. Buckets and not much defensive impact. Can handle the rock and make passes, but isn't a pure point.

Has a huge scoring ceiling and can erupt for 40 point games when his shot is falling. His jumper being so pure coupled with his speed makes him so intriguing.

He works so hard too. 6AM every morning all summer. I think he'll come back next season with an even tighter handle and more moves.

I love Tyrese Maxey.

I dont think Beal is a good comparison. Beal is not as fast as Maxey. I honestly feel like Maxey is comparable to Morant but with a bit less explosive leaping ability but better outside shooting. He is going to be about 90% of Morant. I dont think its hyperbole look at his numbers on a contender at 21 and more importantly his percentages. If he is going to be this good of an outside shooter going forward with his quickness and finishing ability he will be better then Beal.

Yeah, less explosive Ja seems like a reasonable ceiling.

Top five at his position or in the game? In regards to his position...Right now I feel like he's on the same level as guys like Jordan Poole, Jalen Brunson. I name these two because they are playing in the playoffs right now, but that's the tier I have Maxey in. Would I trade him for either one of those guys? I might. Jordan Poole is a Steph Curry copycat and Jalen Brunson is a straight up baller like Maxey. I'm just grateful to have this kid right now. I hope he stays healthy, I don't see him as a top five player overall in the game, but he can certainly become one of the best guards in the game. Possibly top five at his position. I can see that.

When he’s 24-30 he’ll be a 26 to 28 ppg game guy

I can see that happening. He's definitely going to be an elite scorer in this league if he stays healthy.

In terms of output, not playstyle. Tyrese is a scoring combo guard. Ja is a dominant playmaker + dominant scorer. They're not in the same bracket of player imo.
