My guess is it's a scheduling or physical issue.

Not sure of the timeline of the tweets, but reports could just be coming at different times.

If you mean a player wouldn't cancel a workout with the team choosing first because team choosing second promised to select him, then I'd disagree if draft is 1 Boston, 2 LA.

I more or less like Tatum but I don't get why an iso player with ball-stopping in his DNA would be good next to Simmons or Embiid. What's the rationale there? Seems clear we need someone who can play off of those two--since they're both great at initiating, in their different ways--and Tatum really isn't much of a weapon outside of iso situations (he might not be bad at spot-ups but he's not going to be excellent at them, and he's not an especially good cutter or passer or anything else).

Why would he cancel his workout with the team with the top pick, then? He wouldn't cancel it if Philly promised to pick him third, however I could imagine him cancelling it if LA did with the second pick.

Guys with promises cancel workouts for teams that pick after the promise, not before.

My guess is it's a scheduling or physical issue.

Maybe I just want it to be true but this news combined with the leak from PHX is creating a lot of smoke. The 22nd can't come soon enough.

I think his shooting will translate...I'm less worried about him than Jackson in terms of fit offensively. Jackson gets the athleticism and defensive nod, but his shooting is very concerning to me.

I'm hoping Jackson's cancellation means his agent got wind that Sacramento is trading up for the #1 pick.

How can anyone question Jackson's ability to fit anywhere when he proved how system adept he was by thriving as an offensive player in Bill Self's rigid system?

I also don't understand why we compare what Tatum does on offense to what we currently do on offense. We are miserable and rely on McConnell and Saric to create off the dribble. Yes, we have Simmons and he'll presumably be a guy who can create. At the end of games, if we need a basket, he might not be the guy to go to. Embiid? Definitely. But what if they are clogging the lane?

Jayson Tatum is a guy I'd trust with the ball in his hands at the end of games. He gets baskets. We haven't really had a player like that in some time.

Just need a report of him canceling on us and we'll have a good idea of how this draft will shake out for us. His meeting with Magic the other day looms large though.

Players want to be drafted #1. Canceling a workout to a team that holds that pick don't happen.

He definitely has a promise to either play for the Lakers or at least a team he definitely intends to play for.

But that doesn't make sense. What if he really impressed the Celtics brass and has a chance to be taken #1 overall? He'd turn that down because a team that picks later in the draft promised they'd take him? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

Why would he not want a chance to be in the mix for the #1 overall pick? The only thing that makes sense is scheduling issue or ailment.

Can someone tell me why Ball will end up better than DSJ, Fox, or Fultz? I feel like a bunch of his hype has come from his dad. I keep watching his highlights and don't see the "special" thing everyone else does. With the other point guards at least you know you are getting someone who gets buckets, something we can really use on our roster considering Simmons will be the main distributer

Maybe Jackson's agent found out the Sacto trading up idea actually has legs?

If the draft goes 1)SAC - Fultz, 2)LAL - Jackson... I hope BC deals the pick.

Ball declined working out for them without even having been made a promise, so...

I like Jackson more than Fultz, flame away.

The only player I would pass on him for is Ball but I think due to Josh's defence the gap is very slight if at all.

He and his dad are obsessed with LA and may not work out for any team other than LA and Jackson still is going to workout for the Sixers per his agent. We just don't know the date yet.
