Malik Beasley 20ppg
45FG%
39 3pt%
2.4 OBPM
5.7ppg in the 4th same tier with Oladipo
He’s better than Lowry and may cost a little cheaper.
Almost as good as Oladipo but cheaper.
He’s more reliable than Tobi in the 4th and almost as reliable as Beal.
As a scorer in crunch time he’s right there with FVV and Brogdon.
I think he’s underrated
Haha called Beasley a while ago. In another post I mentioned him but it’s more due to if we can’t get the outside star (Lavine/Beal etc.) without giving too many assets do we snag a younger player that will take the next step in a small amount of time? He ticks all the boxes in my books because:
1. He hasn’t been handed the keys so to speak, he still has to play around stars/good players.
2. Numbers on bad teams may conflate things
3. His age profile suggests he’ll have a big year either this year or next (23-25 is usually when most sportsmen get that jump generally speaking).
Beasley comes with baggage but if there was ever a combo guard that might be undervalued in a short amount of time it’ll probably be him. Has all the tools required. Great size and his shot is quick and pure. Like a 22/5/2 59ts% Efficiency on that contract is a bargain. Could definitely see those types of numbers. He fills a great need for us.
Other youngins I’m keeping tabs on before people realize there true worth:
- I’m sold on Ball lol (Love me some Ball).
- Watching Simons very closely (Blazers is def grooming him (maybe after CJ? Could actually spell great things for us down the line. CJ moved and Simons takes over. I dunno but they’ve had him for awhile.)
- NAW? I think there’s too much overlap with Milton.
Can’t see much else. But certainly Beasley/Ball would be a much more balanced backcourt for Embiid/Simmons.
The more elite Embiid/Simmons becomes the greater margin for error. They will go far provided the team structure gets up to scratch.
