Curry has been our second best player this season and on days when Jo is not with it our best offensive option.
which is sad.

I’d say get Turner for Harris. Embiid + Turner has great dividends imo. Less of a load on defensive responsibility now. Having two elite defenders inside and Green on the wing completes one side of the ball which is better than we have right now (we don’t have either on offense/defense).

Harris screams Pacers. I'd do it.

Yeah Non FA destination, Turner massively undervalued by my est. (GSW, Nets, Us, Nuggets, Suns even Bucks as the Lopez replacement should all want him asap at a lower market price) cap space. Easy buy Morey special.
Then two months later there’ll be threads saying why in the heck didn’t we trade for him legit solves our problems lol.
Then Embiid can just be a less suspect shooting Giannis 2.0 and murder teams while Turner can cover at an elite level if he wants to rest on defense.
Cavs have an identity it’s about time we do. Embiid’s offense is less effective the game goes on but still has historical +-impact might as well double down on the most important area for a team and that’s defense.
3 pronged funnel defense. Give Maxey or someone else 2 years we’ll be rocking something proper.

Harris into Turner and Simmons into Ingram might be a championship spine. Just need that Maxey leap and then to surround them with upper tier role players that shoot and defend.
It'd be a wonky Bucks proto with Ingram being the Middleton, Jojo being the Yannis and Turner being the Brolo.
Bit I also think Turner is undervalued, he can roam on defense, protect the paint and has flashed expanded range (39.7% from 3 on 4.7 attempts per game) at only 25 years of age. He's played alongside Sabonis for a while now, he knows how to find non clashing quiet spaces.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
Yeah the Sabonis’s of the world for me will get erratum out & post minimal effect relative to the stats they put up. Sengun fits that bill. Knicks are trapped with RJ and Randle lol. Randle was arse in the playoffs because of above. Hachi should be moved for whatever you can get back.
Hence why Tobithus looks fine on the stat sheet but it’s been 4 years of net neutral play but net negative on contract.
Can be more or less advanced but the meta now kills leaky PF’s that don’t stretch the floor worst possible spot to not go in either or direction. Ben/Donkey for elite defense or Crowder/Olynyk/Gallo/Prime Love for your 4 bomber.
I reckon that’s a great setup with Ingram/Turner/Embiid + two ballhandlers. Our size will be a big plus now.
I don’t know if the 95 Rockets route (we aren’t even there yet in this iteration!) is the path to take anymore because the game is different and you can pressure limited gunner types much much better because the 90’s gave up the perimeter to shore up the inside whereas nowadays it’s the opposite. We win on Embiid being a MVP or through variance of the 3 theres basically no middle ground to this team not like there ever was one to being with lol.
I’d rather see hyper choked out defense and death by volume. We aren’t a pretty Suns/GSW/Spurs system anyway. Bucks aren’t pretty to watch fwiw but they won.

Way easier said than done, but those would be fantastic moves.
always a jump shot away.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
I’d happily give up Milton, Korkmaz, Springer and two picks if it gets us Ingram and Turner for Harris and Ben. Sounds like a a lot but it’s surplus assets now. Maxey covers Milton by a mile, Korkmaz isn’t needed because duh Ingram and Springer isn’t going to contribute anyway and the picks are not lotto so use them if you want to contend.
I think that is very reasonable. Also Ben can be moved along to the Wolves if they want him desperately in a three way minaj deal lol. That frontcourt is bludgeoning.
Maxey
Green
Ingram
Turner
Embiid
Sweet done.

Junk and two likely high 20s picks for Ingram is far from reasonable.

People think Myles Turner is good?
Isn’t the whole reason he’s upset with the Pacers that he doesn’t want to play with another center?
Id be shocked if Tobias got traded this year. Not sure why people think it’s going to happen.

1) Yes.
2) No.
3) It's not like anything we say or do on here has any bearing on the landscape of the NBA. We're just fans on a forum simulating how we'd alter this roster if handed the Daryl Morey experience. A Tobias trade is the perfect place to begin. He's an overpaid cyst.

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
I think OG is ridiculously overrated, so no.
He's a glorified 3&D role player that can't create or pass and doesn't get to the line. He's a solid 4th starter on a championship team in that Mikal Bridges / Prime Danny Green role - which is integral, but that's not the missing link that elevates this teams ceiling as constructed.

Ben for Ingram
Harris for Turner
Not junk read please. The 5 other are the add ons.
Milton/Korkmaz have good contracts which would help a tank/reset.
It’s a win for the Pacers
It’s a win for the Pels (No one stays at the Pels long term)
Ben alone is very close to Ingram holistically. Can argue that Ben is straight better.

Harris is definitely better than Turner especially if we're talking about playing him at the 4 most of the time.

Totally agree, just wishful thinking based on the frustration of seeing him night after night.

If you're frustrated with Harris wait until you get ahold of one of Turner's 5 point nights. He's a great rim protector (weird main attribute to want for a starting 4?) otherwise a pretty limited player. He's a good shooter, but again, in the context of being a 5, like his 39% is more like how Horford would shoot 39% as opposed to Harris getting there by creating shots. And he shot 33% from 3 last year. I'm sort of lost here.

Is it possible that Turner is a worse fit here than Harris? You make good points about attributes for a starting 4, but if Turner is an elite rim protector and can shoot 3's anywhere above 35%, right there I'll take him over Tobias, who has exactly zero elite skills other than filling up a stat sheet.
