Sixers now have two open roster spots.

I was about to poo poo the trade for the 76ets, until I saw Brown in the deal. I don't think the Wizards would consider it, and honestly, Gary Harris would probably make it a no go for Morey, mostly because of the money.

This trade makes the 76ers 3 time repeaters in the tax, and only makes them marginally better. Not gonna do it.

I don't know what the Pistons plans for Josh Jackson are, but if they don't want him I'd trade Scott and a second rounder to see if he's useful. From last nights game it looks like he's able to get into the lane with a live dribble and has some playmaking ability. Embiid snuffed out a few of his drives but not everyone has Embiid. He still can't shoot so that makes him a bad fit but I think he could be on the precipice of putting together the other parts of his game. A buy low candidate. He can defend scoring wings and beat his guy off the dribble. That's two out of three major areas we need in addition to shooting.

George Hill would be a great add if they could get him for that.

Looking at other bottom of the standings teams with veterans that we could steal, PJ Tucker, JJ Redick, and D Rose also stand out as guys that could help our bench.

Sixers trade Ferguson, Thybulle, NYK 2nd

Pelicans trade Melli & Hart

Hart is an upgrade on Thybulle as a bench wing and could use his Bird rights to replace Green in the offseason (or sooner?), Melli is an expiring that can shoot a little as a deep bench stretch 4 to cut down on the Harris/Simmons minutes when Scott is unavailable.

Gives Nola 2+ years of Thybulle on a rookie contract and current minutes to get Alexander-Walker on the floor.

If the Pelicans would want the Sixers 1st, I'd want to swap out Thybulle for Poirier and Korkmaz

They ought to be looking at a long term starter with Green’s salary slot. Also I don’t believe that Simmons and Harris will both (or either!) be on this team next year. But maybe it’s better without Thybulle and Hart, assuming the Pels are okay with basically a salary dump.

Bledsoe's a bad fit even if both of those guys are gone. Not sure why you'd want him playing with Embiid.

not enough for Beal. There will be a better offer out there for him than JAG Hield and upside Maxey plus late 1sts/early 2nds.

Who says no?

To PHI: Beal, Ball

To WAS: Maxey, NAW, JJ's expiring, picks from both teams

To NOP: Simmons

Essentially NOP pushes 2 expirings, picks and a young prospect out in order to have Zion/Ingram/Simmons big 3.

Washington gets 2 young prospects who fit with Deni, Rui, and TB, an expiring contract and lots of picks for Beal -better than Houston's haul for Harden.

Philly gets Beal for Simmons, Maxey and picks, but gets Ball thrown in too!

If the Wizards can get Simmons and picks/prospects for Beal, I'm not really sure why they'd want to involve New Orleans.

Ball could be acquired in a smaller, 2nd deal.

I'm not convinced this makes Sixers better, and certainly puts them in a worse cap/asset situation.

Mike Scott, Tony Bradley, 2 2nd round picks
For
George Hill and Mike Muscala

Thunder save a couple mil and add some more picks (don't think they'll be able to get a 1st for Hill).

Sixers add a quality veteran PG that can shoot off the bench and a stretch 5 for when Jo sits.

Wizards might rather have salary relief young prospects and picks than Ben who doesn't fit with Westbrook and who they might not like as much as picks similar to Houston.

The cap situation post trade would be to re-sign Ball to a long term deal and have a better 1-2 perimeter punch than currently.

I personally think Ball/Beal would be very good together.

Right, which could be expensive (12-15M range feels about right). No longer have the cost controlled Maxey/1st, and Beal costs you an extra million. Certainly a factor for a team that will already be in the tax.

I'm not worried about the long term money aspect in a fantasy trade, especially one that I think brings the Sixers closer to winning a ring, or more than 1.

Bielica and Hield for thybulle, green, Ferguson, Bradley, Scott.

Shooting, scoring and a stretch 5.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
