I don’t know that Toronto offers much more. Maybe a pick or something. I like FVV a lot tho.

I think a deal with SA could be had if you like the basic structure and a few picks. My guess is Morey asked for a lot more tho.

Trent would’ve been difficult to make work as he was a FA, therefore a S&T which hard caps you. But I feel like before the draft you could’ve got something done with Siakam and VanVleet. OG, VanVleet, and Dragic would’ve worked too, just make the Lowry to MIA S&T a three way deal.

For San Antonio, I’m not big on Lonnie Walker but I am on Devin Vassell. Keldon and Vassell, plus Murray and Aminu for salary matching and a couple of picks? Spurs could even lotto protect one of the picks as long as the other is a 2025 unprotected and that’s an easy yes.

Siakim is a tough fit with Harris. I imagine if we traded Ben for a starting PF, we have to move Tobias immediately.

I still feel Harris needs to be moved. He’s a much bigger albatross than Ben ever could be.

I keep coming back to Harris and Simmons for Haliburton, Hield, Bagley, and Barnes. I feel like that deal makes a ton of sense for both sides. Hell, I would even add a 22 1st to the Kings if that pushed it over the top.

I believe training camp opens Sept 28. I think the season is more exciting if we have a deal by then. I would love to find the right deal and go into camp with the ability to work the new players in.

I feel like this would be pretty regrettable. There is no way (IMO) trading Simmons and Harris (the pillars of one of the best regular season teams in the league) for almost the whole starting line up of one of the bottom feeders of the league, and expect positive results. Like, sure we won’t have to worry about Ben chocking in the playoffs… because if Embiid missed his normal 10+ games we probably won’t be in the playoffs.

Cleve- Sexton and salary filler
Portland- McCollum and filler
SA- Murray, Walker, Johnson, and pick(s)
Sac- Barnes, Heild, Bagley and pick(s)
GS- Wiggins, Wiseman, and two picks
Ind- Brogdon and a first
Minn- Russell, Beasley, and draft pick(s)
Tor- couldn’t find solid report, but best I could find was OG, FVV, and Trent

Sexton and McCollum are Tobias level. I'd trade Tobias for either just to get someone who can find their own shot, but as a centerpiece in a Ben deal that's a losing move. Brogdon is a step above Sexton or McCollum in theory, but the injury risk puts him right back on that tier.

Out of SA, SAC, GS, the most intriguing is Wiseman for his upside, but he doesn't fit here. All of those are quantity over quality.

No to Beasley.

That leave TOR, which is the best deal listed there. I haven't looked at OG and FVV's contracts to have a good feel for how that looks overall, but at a glance it looks like it's an FRP away from being acceptable. But if those were the offers, I'd wait.

Harris should have been the first one moved but there’s barely been a whisper of a rumour in that regard

As someone said here before, teams are being very positive right now before training camp, they kinda like what they have right now, wanting to see who are they in the 1/4 of the season and that’s why Ben Simmons trade talks are dead ATM.

But once the season starts and some teams start badly (likely the Kings with their horrible defense), maybe the ownership and management will want to get back to the Simmons trade talk and maybe someone like Fox or Halliburton becomes available.

I feel we are going to be just fine without Simmons to start the season. Not great of course, because he is a very good RS player and he will be missed, but we’ll be fine.

If there would’ve been a good offer for Simmons, Morey would’ve taken it. And I predict there will be, eventually.

Kings need to blow it up as they’re the embodiment of a treadmill team

Their “big” off-season moves should have been sack Walton and then trade anything of value (apart from the youngsters) for expirings and picks

Put the team into the hands of Hali/Mitchell & try to pump Bagley’s value before dumping him as well

Unfortunately, their owner is deluded enough to think that they are win now & their coach needs to win some games to keep his job

because no one wants Tobias on that contract.

He is who he is.

With Ben he still has some youth and the idea that without Embiid he can be unlocked; jumpshot or not.

Tobias is going to get you a quiet 20 on a diet of midrange shots and maybe a 3 or two every night....which is great but not dynamic and very rarely gamechanging. Its not like he is a primo playoff performer either (I mean Brand resigning him to that contract after his showing in that playoffs was nuts ) but he's 30 and Ben is 25...and makes slightly less than Tobias as well lol.

We are stuck with him. Great guy and will be needed for the locker room...so its not all bad but he's never going to be worth the contract and because of that we will probably have him for at least another season...or two.

Completely disagree. Losing Simmons will hurt somewhat, but when you get guys who can actually play offense the defensive fall off won’t feel as bad. As for Harris… I know what the statistics say, but Barnes will still be an upgrade at that spot.

If you can flip Hield and Bagley to a third team for a PG, all the better.

I think if they weren’t in the situation they are with Ben, they would have tried hard to trade Tobias. I think he is tough to move with the contract, and they don’t want to move both Ben and Tobias at the same time.

For Tobias you prob have to take lesser players on better contracts. It would be a step backwards, for a possible two steps forward with Tobias’s cap space. They could potentially leave Embiid with very little “win now” talent. For that reason, I think Tobias was moved to the back burner.

Are we going to have cap space any time in the near future? If we don't have any cap space anyway, Tobias doesn't really hurt us - he just hurts the owner's pocketbook.

On the Cleveland front, a Sexton - Maxey back court is duplicative, short and there will be some defensive, ummm, highlights for sure lol.

IMO, a Haliburton-Maxey backcourt, from the jump, would be the best Sixers backcourt since Iverson-Snow.

Might even go back even further to Hawkins & Dawkins.

Depends on who you thought the backcourt was comprised of between Jimmy, Ben and JJ. If It's Jimmy at the 2, then I go with 4 bounce team.

I’d be all-in of the Halliburton-Maxey backcourt for years to come.

Kings, BTW were 10-10 in the games Halliburton has started.

Butler was the 3 on that team. Until the playoffs. Then Jimmy was the 1, JJ the 2, Harris the 3, and Ben the 4.

So we lost the Horford trade exception and the Hill expiring?

What is going on lol that’s assets not used properly.

Is the owner being a cheap skate? Don’t get it when we love to overpay.

Embiid really does cover a TON of fukups.

Yeah that one is a no brainer. OG is my breakout candidate and front runner for MIP. We get a starting PG and SG as well? Raptors aren’t that stupid.

It’ll be Siakam before that.

Fox, Barnes, and a pick swap for Ben + Korklord, Reed

Fox
Green
Barnes
Harris
Embiid

Maxey
Curry
Thybulle
Niang
Drummond

Milton, Joe

Decentish. Then end with Maxey, Fox, Thybulle, Green and Embiid for the lols.

This team sucks do whatever!
