Might be a good idea to hold Jo out of the first round series starting next year. It's when we are always facing scrub teams who have nothing to lose and inevitably use dirty tactics to stay competetive. Just sit him the 1st round, even if it goes 6 games, and then start him in the 2nd round, when you have more conventional teams.

I say we just get a low seed so that we can play against the top competition while we're still healthy.

To beat the dirty teams, we must become the dirty team.

Seriously need to send a message in case the Saltics try it. Get Trez ready to take out Tatum if they step out of line.

Embiid will be good to go. He didn’t tear a ligament. He is a competitor. All the stars are going to be banged up some. It’s the nature of playoff basketball. We got this.

I'm definitely on the side of someone should of roughed Claxton up , hard foul or something to send a message. You cant keep letting bums beat up on your best player. I dont care that hes 7'2 280 , he obviously cant retaliate. I have no doubts that the celtics will try to pull the same because they know they can.

I will say Celtics seem to have a little more class. Apart from Smart I don't really see any issues. Even with Smart, all he does is flop, or get in Embiid's face to T him up. He's never done anything dirty to him IMO, least from what I can recall.
I'd say the same with the Bucks apart from Grayson Allen.

Well this is not about him being a competitor or not, he has always played in 2nd round despite being banged up or injured, but his performance drastically drops as a result.

The good thing is that this is the least severe of his injuries, as long as there's no tear, he should be okay.

Definitely needs to be shortened by about 10 games, but the players took the cash instead and actually added games to the season with that silly gimmicky "in season tournament" that no one, especially the players, will give a rat's ass about. So much for the NBPA's concern with the safety and longevity of players.
The post season is so incredibly long - potentially 28 games for Finals teams - and is the only part of the season many fans (myself included) actually watch the games. Players getting hurt every year isn't coincidence, as there is fatigue from the long season combined with the ratcheted up intensity of the playoffs. Anything that might be done to enhance this part of the season should be done, but we all know the almighty dollar always rules the day.

Since he gravitates toward the 3 point line anyway, how about Doc gets a little creative and play him and BBall at the same time?

It really is bizarre how Rivers resisted playing Reed to the extent of killing us with his way past their expiration date boys, and this year only played him because there was no option. Even last night, he ripped into Reed when he made the one bad decision to rush a shot back up after an offensive board. That he never once experimented with a Embiid/Reed combination is ridiculous but part of the pattern.
Many here might disagree, but IMO if Reed had landed on a team with a legit coach who understands how to develop young players, he might very well already be a poor man's Rodman type player at this point, doing the little things and dirty work as a core rotation player for a contending team.

I think Boston plays with a heck of a lot more class than Brooklyn. I mean...Every time they've beaten us, it's been because we've been outclassed by them. Brooklyn had nothing to lose in this series. They were playing with house money. You knew Claxton and Cam Johnson were a couple of certified jerks, it's how it was going to go. Brooklyn didn't fight for their playoff lives, but they fought dirty knowing they were going to get bounced anyway.

Everyone breathe, I think Doc just likes to be dramatic.
Still probably questionable for game 1, but I'm leaning towards him playing, especially if he's giong to get the MVP, he'll want to be there, they usually announce that on game 1 or 2 of the 2nd round.

If game 1 is Saturday, I'd rather see him sit until game 2 unless he is as close to healthy as he'll be. Why risk losing him completely if a few extra days might get us a better Embiid the rest of the series?
It's all completely speculation from here on out, as is my potential scenario.

Re: Joel: unchained.
Atlanta just needs to steal 1 more game. Doubt they can push that series to 7 games though.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I think the difference for us between 5 and 6 games is gonna be the series starting saturday or sunday. So not much.
And tbh, i think the NBA is gonna be incentivized to start the series a bit late so Embiid can play game 1 and receive the MVP, networks are also gonna put a little bit of pressure for the ratings
