PG: Maxey, McCain, Lowry(?)
SG: Grimes, VJ Edgecombe, Gordon, Hunter (2-way)
SF: Oubre, Edwards, Ricky IV
PF: George, T-MLE, Broome, Reese (2-way)
C: Embiid, Bona, Drummond

Replace Lowry with Butler. And I don't think we use the T-MLE since we already will have 14 players and we usually leave a spot open, plus we need breathing room under the 2nd Apron after resigning Grimes.

PG Maxey | McCain | Butler
SG Grimes | Edge | Gordon
SF Oubre | Edwards | Council
PF George | Broome | OPEN
CE Embiid | Bona | Drummond
TW: ??? (maybe Hunter, Reese, Milicic, etc.)

That's it. Don't expect much else this offseason.

Maybe it was because I watched less games as we went full tank mode - wasn't Lonnie Walker a much better player than Buter? I think he LW played a good bit of PG and was okay. He's also under club option for this year.

I think Butler is better than Walker and Butler is also more of a pure PG, which we otherwise don't have once Lowry is gone. I think we also have an option on Butler too.

Only after he screws Danny Ainge out of a top 5 pick lol.

Yup, both guys have a club options. LW is $2.9MM and JB is $2.3MM.

I wonder if we'll decline both to save $5MM to make more room for Grimes or Yabu. While it's nice to have those guys, their cap space is more important at this stage to give to a more valuable player.

You don't save cap space if you have too few players because you get charged a cap hold and then have to replace them. Anyway the issue isn't cap space, it's staying under the 2nd Apron, which is why Butler's small min deal helps.

Oh even the lowest of low life basketball fans such as myself could have seen this coming a mile away with Bailey in Utah.
First off...Ainge is a prick. We all know this. But...Utah is honestly the best place for Bailey to start his career. Aine is an immovable object and Bailey and his camp will not win this with a holdout. His best bet is to show up, go to work, do his thing and get paid.

Thank God we avoided that mess. I don't think Morey was going to take him anyway

Sixers tried desperately to trade down but found no takers! VJ should take it as DISRESPECT that no one felt he was worth trading up for!!!

The Philadelphia 76ers chose Baylor’s V.J. Edgecombe at No. 3, when the story wasn’t the player selected but the team that did it. Philadelphia canvassed the league, searching for ways it could trade down from the third pick leading into the draft, league sources told The Athletic. Come Wednesday evening, it couldn’t find a worthwhile deal and chose the explosive 6-foot-4 guard. Edgecombe will join second-year scorer Jared McCain and All-Star spark plug Tyrese Maxey in the Philadelphia Sixers’ backcourt

Local beat guys have disputed that, so no one knows.

Also, the word was Morey was asking for a gigantic price for the 3rd pick, so it's not surprising no one wanted to move up.

Bailey would be stupid not to show up. Then again, he hasn't exactly proved himself intelligent.

Of course they have, because they are the mouthpieces for the team.

This is the logical problem, that Morey yet again overvalues his assets.

The only time he gets his way is if somebody steps in on his behalf, whether that be James Harden threatening to leave Brooklyn or Adam Silver pulling Josh Harris and Steve Ballmer in a room and telling them to hug it out.

I'm more inclined to believe Moreys asking price was too high, especially when Ace, tre, VJ, and Kon were all considered even. And the price probably went up after 6.
