what if we take on Gortat as incentive? make him our problem to trade.
Noel and Hollis for Porter/ Gortat.
They resign Noel. We resign Porter.
They start Oubre. We start Embiid
We flip Gortat for whatever - include some of our trusty 2nds to help get the deal done.
Everyone's happy.
This doesn't make sense. If you accept that Porter is worth more than Noel (which you seem to have done given the post you responded to), it's an even worse deal to include Gortat. Gortat is an asset on his current deal - he's making roughly 12.8 mil a year the next 3 seasons and he's likely worth significantly more under these cap conditions. It should not be a problem for them to trade him if they desire to.
The framework should be something like:
Porter -> phi
Noel -> team X
Pick/s -> was
Balancing out in some way.
Given the Was cap next year and having Oubre to figure out, even Was has its issue to re-sign Porter imho.
