I guess this is our back-up plan if Tobi tells us he's leaving??
If we bring in Horford and re-sign Jimmy, our defense becomes ridiculously elite; especially with more of Zhaire at the 2. Our spacing becomes even worse though

We've also solved our back-up C/replacement for Joel on load management games.

Very glad to hear Horford is only a backup plan.

It sounds like we already have a 4 year offer on the table for Horford?

To have a offer on the table already sounds like 1 or both of Tobias/Jimmy are out the door does it not?

Sounds like Horford is a backup plan if they leave, not that they are leaving.

If Harris is leaving, I would think about offering Taj Gibson two years if he's available for a lot less than Horford and using the difference to pursue another pretty good player. Maybe take Ilyasova off Milwaukee's hands if they're looking to trade him, possibly in a 3-way trade with a team under the cap. As a lifetime Bulls fan (as well, of course, as a more recent Sixers fan) I would take Gibson, Joakim Noah, and Derrick Rose to help with the bench and keep Jimmy company. I kind of think the Bulls will be pursuing those same guys, at bargain costs, to mentor their young players but also to keep their ticket-buying fanbase at least somewhat interested.

(And Rose might well get overpaid this year after his resurgent 2018-19 season; if so, a rebuilding team can have him.)

Hypothetically speaking, how good do people think a big 3 of Embiid/Jimmy/Kyrie would be?

Do people think that team could be championship calibre?

Obviously we'd only go that route if Harris leaves and if FO believes that Simmons will never get a jump shot.

I'm asking since Woj is now saying that the Nets might pivot away from Kyrie since the Kyrie+KD combo is looking less likely.

What's Simmons have to do with it? It would require moving our first round pick and Bolden, but you can get to a second MAX slot without doing anything with Ben.

Ok, even better then. Keep Simmons as well.

It was more a long the lines that FO would probably only get Kyrie if they're not confident in Ben as our future full time PG.

Although I'm not sure Ben would happily relinquish PG duties to Kyrie.

Looks great on paper but I think there would be chemistry issues with a core 4 of Embiid/Simmons/Butler/Kyrie.

Kyrie would have to know his role and shut his mouth and that's exactly what he hasn't been happy with in CLE or BOS.

With that said I'd rather have Kyrie at the MAX as opposed to Tobias. He's just a better player.

Haven't seen his name mentioned much, but what about signing SG Jeremy Lamb with the full midlevel? He had a good year last year and could slot in as our SG of the future once Redick is finished. For now he could be our 6th man. He's not as good of a 3 point shooter but a better overall scorer and a much better defender than JJ.

He's a sensible target. You can never have enough competent wings.

Yeah and he's only going to be 27 next year. Good backup plan to take over the SG spot from Redick in a year or two.

Kyrie and Joel are a hall of fame duo that would vault us instantly to be title contenders.

I want nothing to do with Kyrie. The Boston team bus needs a whole new suspension from Kyrie constantly throwing his young teammates under it.

We already are title contenders. But swapping out Tobias and Redick in exchange for Kyrie would make us even better I agree.

I saw Harris in Bali 2 weeks ago and spoke to a girl who was sitting with him and his girlfriend and she said he was a real cool guy hahaha but didn't give her any info about staying or leaving LOL
I think keeping Harris trading Butler for Gordon and draft picks plus getting Horford would be a better fit for us.
4 year 100mil for Horford wouldn't be bad, look at what Marc Gasol is making at the same age contract finishing same time also and I'm sure Toronto is happy paying it.

So apparently you missed playoffs where Butler was HUGE for us..
