Everyone is available at the right price

Question is: would you agree Sixers sending such a package (if possible) for Mikal Bridges?
2 first rounders and a swap, I could live with. More seems very risky.

So, he wasn't available at the price we were willing to spend, that's correct.

Personally think he’s a system player so could do well on the Knicks but was very ordinary for us for a fair % of last season when asked to step up

His contract is good though as we’re living in a world where Barnes is being paid $40+ million a year

I think the salary thing doesn't matter as much. Obviously there are luxury tax and apron ramifications for the Knicks... but I think where a player like Bridges or Markannen on their 'lower' salary would advantage a team is if the team had significant cap space and by acquiring that player was then still able to sign or trade for another high-impact player at a large salary.

In another 2 years Bridges will get a max starting around $53m. It remains to be seen if Brunson will give the Knicks a 'discount' and sign an extension this off-season, or play out the year and then opt-out for a max contract in 2025 that would start close to $50m.

It reinforces for me that people were delusional thinking that we could trade for him.

I've been consistent with my takes on Bridges since he was a Sun. I've said he's an elite 3rd option on a contender if they have two better players and that he could be a decent 2nd option if the team has an unicorn/MVP type as the #1 option.

Knicks paid for him like he's a #1. Now for the Sixers giving up 3 or 4 firsts for Bridges could have made sense if it could have happened simply because he'd be the 3rd option here and his $23m contract would have left a lot of cap space remaining to go out and sign another guy to really build out the roster.

I still think in terms of picks given up it would be overpayment for what he brings, but in terms of allowing you to build-out/complete your rotation it could have been worth it. I don't think he's 5 first round picks worthy though.

Knicks making power moves and you sitting here making up excuses and talking if "we did it" it would make more sense lol 76ers fans are delusional.

Lots of people already bemoaning a ruined off season. Can we just see where the chips fall first? I am super looking forward to this draft for what it’s worth. Gonna be fun and unpredictable.

No, the Knicks decided to corrupt the market making it so giving up any pick(s) for Ingram will put this team still behind the two headed monsters of the east.

Tomorrow is the exam, and we didn’t study because we thought we could trade the exam and our homework for a hamburger.

Well turns out now thanks to the Knicks, even getting a half eaten french fry will be difficult, let alone a whole damn hamburger.

I think the board consensus was pretty accurate. Mikal wasn’t an option for us because if he gets traded it will be to a team like the Knicks or rockets who have more draft capital than us. It was pretty obvious after the reported rockets offer that the Sixers didn’t have the ammo to trade for Mikal.

If he got traded for two firsts, then your reaction would make sense, but he got traded for more than we could offer, so that’s how a free market works.

Not saying you're wrong, but I'd like you to lay out the case for optimism based on the trade market over the past 2 years.

So, to make the Trae-Ingram trade work:

We send:
16th pick to ATL
LAC pick to ATL

NOP send:
2 Future firsts to ATL
Brandon Ingram to PHI

ATL send:
Trae Young to NOP

I wonder if we can chop a pick off our deal if we help ATL shave off some bad longterm salary? Capela looks like he has value on the trade market. Hunter? Bogdonovic?

I think Altanta is just cutting us out of that deal

I think they’re rebuilding, so why would they want Ingram?

Morey is probably cramming right now by watching YouTube highlights of these prospects. His Excel file of players' PER, which he brought over from his days with the Rockets, won't save him.

Worse comes to worst, he will draft Jared McCain because he reminds him of Eric Gordon.

I do find it funny that the Knicks did the one thing designed to make Sixer fans crazy. So now that the Philly golden boy has gone to NYC, Morey has “failed” the off-season when the draft, much less FA, hasn’t even started.

Reading around...it feels like anything we do will be met with "this sucks" lol.

If we had of traded that package for Mikal...you can be damn sure the same people mad now would be still mad because we gave up too much.

OG is just Tobias. So is Ingram. Jimmy and PG is too old. Bron brings a circus. DDR isn't any good. And Morey better not punt with some 1 +1 again.

It feels like sans getting Luka nothing will be good enough (and even then I suspect someone will go IDK he's kinda fat)

and yeah...that may be the case lol. We spent all of our assets and are trying to rebuild in one year due to some invisible window. We don't have any tradable contracts, our picks are ass, and we have no youth. ....all due to past and current FO pushing in the chips for mid.

we may be cooked fellas
