Just hoping and praying for all the health towards his hamstring, but I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

He obviously cares so much and wants to be great. Next season is going to be so fun, we've only seen a glimpse of what this man can do.

Agree. He wants to win, and knows this is going to be his best shot. Morey just needs to add 2-3 more pieces and remove some dead weight.

Why am I getting BS flashbacks. Great off season and then when the regular season starts? Well at least it was posted on twitter and not IG...so there is that.

He'll get more than Brunson. He might be an all-star this year.

Brunson got 4/104M
hmmm, i wonder if it's even more than that if he makes the allstar game. Might be wrong.

The major difference is we never saw BS shoot or drive in the NBA like in his summer videos. I've actually seen Harden's hamstring function on the court. Also, the major knock on Harden is he treats his body like **** over the Summer. The video alone is at least some proof that he may be taking things more seriously this Summer.

Ahhh 76ers summer hope, this time it's different. I love it !

If it's not Maxey showing a video of him working on something, I'm skeptical. But I will be more than happy to be proven wrong.

I think it's just PTSD on your behalf.

We got these videos all summer last year too if you want to search "Chris Johnson Tyrese Maxey" on youtube, I don't think there's any sort of ulterior motive here. Kid is just a hard worker and loves basketball.

We've already seen Maxey take a tangible leap after his first offseason so he deserves our faith.

I think you quoted me for the wrong video. Maxey can post a video of him building a rocket ship and saying he is going to train on the moon, and I'd be OK go do it young fella. It was the Harden working out video that I am not getting hyped about. But I'd be happy to be wrong.

I'm sorry. Sometimes I get defensive over Tyrese Maxey.

Oh no hope, just distinction. I'm a Sixers fan sir, hope left a long time ago.

Does anyone feel strongly one way or another regarding Maxey's potential to become our closer? That's the most important question about this team heading into next season IMO. It's also key in determining whether or not he's worth offering for KD, that's realistic or not.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I don't think he has it in him, at least not yet. He needs to show that he made that jump this summer.

To be our closer he needs to develop his midrange game.

The most Sixers thing would be him hitting his stride at like 24 y/o after Harden and Embiid have broken down. I hope he gets to where he needs to before our window closes with those two.

Joel, will be just entering the end of his peak around then. At 32, he should still be one of the 10 best players in the NBA. Harden could be like CP3 by then. I wouldn't sell high on Maxey on with the fear that he's not ready yet. Mitchell is only better than Maxey in a vaccuum, Maxey might end up better than him. This is supposed to be his breakout year. Year three is when players really put it together.

I really hope Maxey builds on his game this offseason, because if he regresses at all, this board is going to be in full meltdown next year.

We’ll take what the defense gives us. We have lots of shooters and lots of options, we’ll take the shots with less pressure.

To be the closer he's going to have to be able to collapse defenses in the half court. I'm pretty questionable on whether he can do that TBH. But you can't count this dude out.

This is a huge year for Maxey, and it seems that he knows it. Any regression and this site will completely melt down, but he needs to actually build on what are already strengths, and adding more to his midrange game than the floater would go a long way towards making him a legit closer. He adds a reliable pull up 12-15-footer to his already elite finishing skills, he would be borderline unstoppable.

He has to be more than just a shoot or slash guy. He has solid handle but has to add some counters and go'2 to his arsenal. Teams are going to be game planning for him this season. Last season he would get vexed once when he was ran off the three point and also unable to get in the paint.

He will improve but his shooting is going to regress. It would be remarkable if he maintained it on more volume.

If he can get to the line and provide some ISO offense, then his shooting percentages won't really matter. He'd essentially become Bradley Beal.
