We have no choice- bc already gave him a chance. Sf who can shoot. Damm whole team cannot shoot. Stauskas cannot shoot, anderson cannot shoot, noel couldnt shoot, simmomns?
Why we think that "magic" sixers shooting camp can make a new steph curry of simmons? Of anderson? Of tj?

This guy sucks and his face bothers me. Is that his natural hair color? What's up with that?

Idk if I'm just in a bad mood or if I forgot how obnoxious tanking can be to watch

Pros: He has good size. He crashes the offensive glass. He plays aggressive defense. He moves the ball. He makes hard cuts.

Cons: He can't shoot or create off the dribble. He isn't Nerlens Noel.

Situation: the Sixers.

Result: He should see 20-25 mins a night because he knows how to play basketball, he performs his role and the Sixers are back to being "that" bad.

I mean he's a better prospect than JaKarr Sampson and JaKarr started in Philly for a long time.

Embiid is done. Simmons is done. Aside from hoping Okafor turns himself into a legitimate trade asset, who cares what the Sixers do?

I find it interesting that the guy has tied a career high 3 times since joining our team. Speaks to him potentially have a place on our team going forward.

He is a slasher and prefers up tempo.... Dallas grinding half court offense around Dirk was never the best place for Anderson. Rick Carlisle even admitted as much.

Justin Anderson or Denzel Valentine?

Is it me or does JA seem more like he should be playing tight end or outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense instead of playing basketball? Can we trade him to the Eagles? He is athletic, just not sure it is basketball kind of athletic.

After watching him for over a month, despite his obvious limitations, I like the energy he brings. I think he can be our main enforcer a la Draymond Green though he isn't nearly as skilled as Green is. If he continues to work on his jumper, he can be a solid contributor off the bench.

I like Justin Anderson. As far as the team is concerned, they are playing about 500 ball without their 2 best players.
No complaints. If Noel were on the team right now I doubt it would make a difference. Holmes is contributing nicely, as is long.
Nerls is a nice player, but with Embiid, Holmes and even long, there is no place for him on this team. Which is why BC was never going to sign him to begin with. Okafor is next.

JA brings almost too much energy to a team that you just want to forget about right now. I know that sounds ridiculous. But that's where I'm at with our team in general right now. I need to see what it is with its actual contributing core pieces for once before I can weigh in on how effective the role players are.

Anderson is older and has more NBA experience but is the worse player now. Anderson is one of the worst wings in the league while Prince is having a pretty reasonable rookie season.

You can reasonably project Prince to be a decent 3 and D player. Anderson isn't close to being a positive on either side of the ball despite his athleticism and effort.

I'm not seeing the discrepancy in data that you're describing, assuming you're specifically focusing on this season's RPM, which recency obviously matters, but that's also ignoring about 40% of it. Comparing their rookie seasons Anderson had performed noticeably better than Prince has this season.

Ages - 8 months separates them, they're both 23 now.

I just don't believe that the difference is noticeable enough that I'd easily take one over the other.

It's extremely relevant that Anderson has been among the worst players in the league his second season even if his rookie season was comparable to Prince's.

I see a very clear role for Prince as an NBA player. I also see a path for Prince to become a 5th starter on a decent team and I don't see that with Anderson.

Can just agree to disagree.

However, this digging has gotten me curious about calculating RPM, again. I'm looking at the stats and metrics and I just can't grasp the cause of such a significant decline or even why his RPM was so good last season (in comparison, at least). Also, why do they consider him a SG when every other site shows that he has barely played there? I'm quite certain position is weighted differently (O scales backcourt, D scales front) which sort of ignores my previous point, but is worth considering.

The biggest difference might be his on/off split. He was +2.8 last season and was -7.8 with Dallas this season. He's +2.9 with Philly though.
