Therefore I haven't spent a lot of time researching the prospects.

Realistically, we could get the Lakers pick at say 8, and then our own pick at say 16, and then combine them to move up. So getting the 5th pick would be possible in the right scenario.

Just from the sophomores that I know a little better, Miles Bridges or Robert Williams could both be good fits for us.

Way too soon to discuss trade possibilities, but guys in the middle/late lottery are far better fits next to Embiid/Simmons/Fultz than the top guys (according to the mock drafts). Troy Brown jr (Oregon), Shake Milton (SMU) and Mikal Bridges (Villanova) are my early favorites.

I love Miles Bridges as well, but I'm not sure if he'll be best utilized if he's playing on the perimeter with Embiid and Simmons here. Let's see how he handles the perimeter duties with Jaren Jackson and Nick Ward on the same roster this year.

Mikal Bridges is a good prospect, 6'6 with a 7.05 wingspan. 91% FT on only 2 attempts and 39% 3s on 3 attempts. 5 rebounds a game, an active player.

Another 6'6 active player is Theo Pinston. His shooting #s are bad. 70%FT, 24% from 3, but almost 5 rebounds a game. Missed the start with an injury, this could have effected his poor #s. Anyway, he seems to be a very good perimeter defender.

Mikal is a versatile defensive wing from Villanova, low volume but hyper efficient, an advanced stat darling. With several players leaving he has to become more assertive to make up the loss of shot creation at Villanova.
Miles is the PF from Michigan State, energy guy with some intriguing vision. Doesn't have the reach to play a similar role as Draymond Green, but with his big frame he can be a PF in the NBA. If he can maintain his 3PT% from his freshman year he's a top 10 player in the draft.

Mikal Bridges could well have gone in the draft just gone but he did not really 'pop' at the end of the season offensively despite Novas stellar season. Like Kolkmania I think he's one of a few players who might be available to us with our own pick in next years draft who will be an excellent roster fit. I agree also the next draft has really good depth for us at those wing spots, like he says the Troy Browns et al ones to keep an eye on. Hopefully they don't have too good seasons! Just enough to show they have NBA pedigree but not so much they go top 15/18. Ideally if we keep the Lakers pick I would like that pick to go on a potential "superstar" style player and our own on a Mikal B or Troy B type of player

LA Pick (6-9) - Miles Bridges? Collin Sexton?
PHI Pick (13-17) - Hamadou Diallo? Rawle Alkins?

Dincic balled out and the only way we can get him is with our own pick and if that's the case that's not good. It sure would have been good to have another team's pick say the Lakers from 2-5 because that's where Doncic is going

You sure are environmentally friendly for you recycle the same material. You have had 2 months to get over the trade .... I guess some take longer than others.

He was also drafted #7 overall, hard to be a sleeper when that happens.

Prior to draft. Sleeper in my definition, overlooked prospect.

I like Sexton's energy, but he is a little short for a shooting guard. That's my only big concern at this stage.

Hmm, still tough for me to see how someone picked there could be a 'sleeper.' Most top 10 guys have all-star potential, you could easily say of most of them 'if things work out right he'll at least make a couple AS teams.' You could be extra high on some guy picked 7--like you're really feelin that he'll get to his potential more than other think--but I'm not sure that anyone's sleeping on someone taken that high.

And even if you just mean people aren't properly valuing him, he'd have to be a legit star to outperform reasonable upside expectations. Not trying to give you a hard time or trip on semantics, just what makes sense to me.

In the traditional sense, I agree. But I think with Ben, we need a guard with Fultz who shuts down the Kemba Walker's etc., and who can also score. A Patrick Beverly type. I think Sexton fits that mold. Ultimately, I'd like a guard who is more athletic, defends better and shoots better than TJ Maxx. TJ is hella scrappy. But his contract is depreciating, and he is limited. Would love to keep him as third guard. But we need an upgrade at backup one, and back up three, in my opinion.

The Sixers have Ben Simmons and Dario Saric. Also, who exactly is Doncic defending?

I don't see superstar in Donic but I also see zero chance he bust. Dude is too smart and too natural of the PnR. His PnR feel is almost Fultz like but without that scoring angle awareness. I've watched more Slovenia games than I should and I'm sold on him to a degree and depending on the team that get's the pick I can see him going #1.

Also Sloevnia's coach is pretty damn good. That offense is pretty wide open which is somewhat a surprise for a Euroleague team.

Eurobasket is so much easier to watch than the NCAA. I wish kids played pro ball for a year or two in Europe instead of wasting time in college.

Oh he's better in the P&R than Fultz, way more patient and sees the entire court at any time, those cross-court passes for open corner threes are so impressive at his age and taking into account the level of competition. Fultz is a more natural scorer and is better and more creative driving to the rim. Also you can't learn having a 6'10 wingspan as a guard, he's got a physical advantage compared to Doncic.
