I said the exact same thing to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago and I'm an eagles season ticket holder.

I'm pretty excited for the Eagles next season though.

I think Barnett, Sidney Jones, and Rasul Douglas are all going to be studs. If Jalen Mills can improve as well, along with Jordan Hicks, our defense will actually go from a question mark to one of the best in the league.

I'm actually not as high on Wentz as some people are. I see him as a Joe Flacco-esque QB: which you can still win a championship with don't get me wrong. But he's not the next Manning or Brady or even Matt Ryan IMO

I'd take Mariota, Winston, or Dak Prescott over Wentz tbh. It seems like Wentz is moving in slow motion out there some times, and I think our O Line will be on the decline as he comes into his prime, which is just bad luck really.

Our defense is more important to develop

I think barring another PED-related suspension for Lane Johnson, the only major O line concern for the Eagles will be finding a replacement for Peters once he retires. Obviously LT is among the premium positions in the NFL, so the front office will likely be forced to take one in the first round next year, or overpay one in free agency unless Johnson can effectively move over to the left side. The Eagles are still relatively young at the other OL positions plus it's easier to address the interior spots in the later rounds of the draft.

The one everyone is laughing at in the official 76ers twitter page is Joel right? He's the only I don't see in that banner.

why hasn't Blount gotten going thus far though? Oline has been realtively healthy and depending on who you talk to they're one of the best in the league. But I havent heard any positives on Blount yet.

And I know this is Eagles talk, deal with it for a couple posts, our hoops team is so good right now we don't have a pressing offseason issue at the moment.

We coul make a separate Eagles thread if enough people are following the team.

Up until a few years ago, the NFL was far and away my favorite sport. But I started following the NBA more as the NFL shifted towards its current state of excessive penalty flags and commercials.

Those are two things you get the most from watching an NFL game.

Penalties and commercials

Any updates on him? Haven't heard a peep all summer. I know we saw videos of him working out, but with Simmons cleared for 5 on 5 contact, I'm getting a little worried about Embiid. Sure, it could just be the organization being extra cautious, but I really don't want another situation like in early 2017 where we're told he'll be fine, and then he needs surgery...This franchise is so frustrating when handling injuries...

Sixers were extra cautious the last few years, but this year they should have a different perspective. Injuries will always be a concern, but most players usually recover faster or just play thru them, if possible.

Embiid should play enough to significantly impact the game, but any chance to reduce his minutes should be considered, such as blowouts. Tim Duncan remained healthy throughout his career by carefully monitoring his minutes.

Ironically, Simmons should benefit from being involved with the team during his recovery last year. Professional coaching, films, and other things should make him better prepared. Similarly, Embiid benefited from shooting practice during his recovery.

Lets hope Simmons worked on his jump shot while he was injured like Embiid. But embiid is just so naturally talented. Hes picks up things so quickly. Just from game 1 to game 31. He improved his turnovers. Recoginized double teams much better. Still a lot of room for improvement. But u can just see embiid evolving.

Embiid seems healthy to me. They are just being cautious with him based on his history, and his importance to the team.

As I have been saying for a long time, for Embiid to get out of the injury shadow he needs to get through two years without any catastrophic foot injures.

The first year he was able to do that. He needs to get through this year too.

Until we reach that point I would continue to be ultra cautious with him.

Good point, can't really call the first year a true season though... 31 games isn't 82... They might need to be cautious the first few months of the following season as well...

31 games isn't the same thing as 82 games, but I was referring more to a year of basketball related activities, rather than an actual basketball season.

I just think that if he gets 2 years out from his last surgery with no recurrences of stress fractures in his feet that we can start to think of him as a someone with a normal injury risk, as opposed to someone with a sword hanging over his head all of the time.

A productive Okafor could be beneficial for Embiid.

Embiid plays 28 mins a game. He can make an impact and be healthy for the playoffs.

I can't wait until after this season when the rest of the NBA media people are like wait. We have to add Simmons to the list. But for now having Embiid on the list is good enough.

Simmons absolutely belongs on there too.

Maybe they don't want to freak the league out that they found 2 unicorns on one team 8-)

If Biid can stay healthy this can be an unbelievably exciting season and future.

True haven't heard anything about him for the last month and a half or so... Hope everything is okay with the knee... Ughghg, the waiting is killing me... I just want to hear that he's cleared for 5 on 5... Are any of you worried that we're about to have a bombshell dropped on us?

Yea honestly I am a bit worried, too. They cleared Fultz for return relatively quickly, and Simmons has already been fully cleared. It's all speculation on my part, but if they were just being conservative, wouldn't they be the same with all of their young/valuable players?
