“I’m still a Sixers player, and I hope to stay a Sixers player.”

But the 6-foot-7, 279-pound post player is a sought-after trade asset. Sources have said the New York Knicks have expressed interest in acquiring him ahead of Thursday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline. The Celtics and Denver Nuggets are also among the teams that have expressed interest in the Frenchman, according to HoopsHype.

It's clear ownership wants at least one more crack at this group of three. They promised PG he's not getting traded in the first year, obviously Embiid can't be traded in the first year.

A lineup of Maxey, McCain, PG, Zion, and a stretch 5 is pretty lethal. They'd go as far as Zion's health/weight permitted.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. But why does NOP trade for an aging star? It feels like it would require a 3rd team to acquire Embiid.

Not to do recency bias because I do think the Mavs GM is brain dead, but AD is also an aging, injury plagued big man and Doncic is a dough boi who apparently causes headaches to the Mavs culture.

Right. Getting Zion for Embiid isn't nearly the heist that getting Luka for Davis is.

Sadly, we're not the Lakers where those opportunities magically appear.

Yea, but the Mavs are a playoff team with Kyrie and Klay, while the Pelicans have had no recent success and are in contention for the #1 pick.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

I think David Griffin must be looking at his "organic growth" plan as a failure and has the fuel to create a contending team with the pieces currently in place. The two "stars", Ingram and Williamson, have not really done their part and a refresh makes sense.

Butler, Embiid, McCollum, Jones, and Murphy is a formidable lineup in the West, when healthy. The problem is relying on Embiid.

I think another sicko part of the trade could be Dejounte Murray being added now that he's torn his achilles. They likely don't want to deal with his contract/rehab. Embiid, Oubre, KJ for Zion, Murray.

Murray would be good for us in this hypothetical. He has the size and ballhandling to play with either Maxey or McCain and at either guard spot. Assuming he recovers to 100% of course.

Murray is only good hypothetically.

Murray's value is his athleticism. He's going to be a different player when he returns unfortunately.

Well this would be a thing

could it end up with Jimmy to Philly, PG to GWS and young players/picks to Miami?

The only 2 players I definitely want to keep are Maxey and Yabusele.
I would also like to keep Oubre, Gordon, and Edwards.
Everyone else is good to go !!!

I don't see Yimmy agreeing to come. He hates our ownership and only wants to play in Phoenix. He already turned down Golden State and Memphis.

However if the price is right (i.e. full MAX extension) then maybe he changes his mind.

For me the only keepers are Maxey, McCain and Edwards. Primarily because they are on the ascent and their values should increase over the next few years.

Everyone else *should* go if the price is right.

Why would folks trade Embiid for Zion? Both have huge injury concerns except Embiid can play at an MVP level. Unless of course, we're talking about a nice pick package.

I think Zion was on his way to MVP runs after his soph year. Embiid will not return to MVP levels barring something unforeseen. I'd rather take a stab at the 24 year old who is more mobile than praying Embiid comes back to form.

Would much rather deal with G.S direct and get back Wiggins / Kuminga and add ins

Maxey and Yabusele are the only keepers for me. Edwards is intriguing, and while McCain looks like he'll be a good player, I'd much rather have a bigger PG who can defend with Maxey.

Trading Embiid for Zion would be jumping off one older sinking ship to another sinking ship that's sinking even faster.

I think I'd rather take a shot on Moody and/or Podz instead of Kuminga due to the shooting factor. Moody is locked into a decent long-term deal and Kuminga could get massively overpaid this summer.

I think this is the only reason Kuminga would be available in a PG trade this year is them not wanting to overpay him and Wiggins next year.
I’d do it.
PG probably returns healthy for the playoffs and looks like a stud in GS… but I’m disillusioned and ready to move on

Idea:

CHI gets Looney, two 2nds from Philly
GSW gets Horton-Tucker, Craig, George, and Gordon
PHI gets Kuminga, Wiggins, Payton Jr., and Kyle Anderson

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
