Whoops ... just a friendly reminder ... the forum rules suggest being respectful of others with our posts ... I am not sure if this one quite makes it. I would hate to see you get a warning.

Sendem, I had a dream too, it involved the 76ers forum and you were gone. But it had nothing to do with me degrading one of the greatest men in the history of the world. That post you just made disrespected the greatest speech I have ever heard in my opinion and I hope you feel ashamed. And if you are black I feel even worse for you and your soul. That was just wrong and I really wish you would just stop posting here.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

i don't know how a guy that many of us originally thought couldn't shoot at all, couldn't dribble and had little to no offensive game outside of passing can be bashed this bad for showing he is a #2 option at best.
Iggy has far exceeded what i thought he could be. this bashing is simply incredible.

That proves you are not a Sixer fan. You were a AI fan. Go to the Nuggets board.
Last season I stopped watching the Sixers after the Iverson trade. I might have caught 3 games, so I didn't have the same love for Iguodala that many Sixers fans aqcuired. I started over FRESH this season and it became apparent to me that Iguodala was INDEED the same player that was playing with Iverson but with just more responsibility and cockiness/arrogance. When have we ever even seen Iggy dive for a ball or hit the floor while driving to the hole? He has turned into a McGrady that can't score.

Read Sixer Fixer's post on page 10 of this thread...it sums up my current feelings about Iguodala and the concerns that I have about him better than any post I have ever seen. It's not that Iggy isn't a VERY good player - he is. The problem is: 1) with the potential emergence of Thad (a natural SF), if Iggy is going to play heavy minutes for this team over the next several years, it will have to be at SG, and 2) his skill set and strengths may not be the best fit for where this team is going in the future - particularly at $50-55 million dollars.
If Iggy could accept being more of a Shane Battier/Luol Deng-type player (a defense-first SG whose athleticism will allow him to score in transition, with the occasional stand-still Bruce Bowen/Raja Bell-like 3-pointer thrown in) - with the salary to match - then I might be more inclined to think about him staying with the team going forward. But on a team that will likely have Thad and Sammy as two of the backbone players, we may be better off with a more traditional Michael Redd/Rip Hamilton SG...and I do not see Iggy becoming that player.
My fear is we give him $55 million this summer hoping he becomes that guy...only to find out that he can't (leaving us with an overpriced contract that we can't move). I do think that a S&T might be the best option for us with Iggy.
(nice post again, Sixer Fixer)

They probably make more than that - but even if they do, I would view that money as better spent - paying market value for a true ASSASSIN at SG...as opposed to this team giving Iggy $50-60 million when his toolbox isn't the best fit.
Now...on a team that already HAS a Redd/Roy/Rip at SG, perhaps Iggy would be a GREAT fit at SF...and we could find a S&T that makes sense for both teams....
Have fun this summer, Eddie...

I can get down with sixer fixer's post. you guys aren't bashing him though. It's the people simply saying he sucks or that he isn't a good player ect. that i have a problem with. The rational that sixer fixer puts forward is fine. Infact its well reasoned and very well put.

Thanks!
I think my opinion of Andre is similar to many Sixer fans. It's clear the guy has talent...I think the majority of fans agree with that. The question is, does that talent translate to a guy you want as the franchise SG for the next 5+ years? I think there's three key things you need to be a contender. On offense it's an inside post presence and outside shooting. The third thing is good team defense.
I fear we get locked into the tandem of Andre and Thad at SG/SF and we miss out of the 3pt shooting aspect to stretch the D. Our only other opportunity to get that would be at the PG spot, but that forces you to find a PG who can hit the 3 at a very good rate (not an easy find).
I'm not sure most people would agree with this, but I would trade Andre in a S/T for Mike Miller. Miller will make about 2 mil less that Andre will command so something else would probably have to be added to match salaries (9 mil vs about 11 mil for Andre). Memphis runs an uptempo offense and Andre would fit great there next to Gay. Miller is a dead eye shooter (better than 46% for last 4 years) and would be a nice fit next to Thad IMO. Miller is a very underrated player...not the defender Andre is, but you give up the D to get 3 pt shooting. Miller is a good passer and above average rebounder for the position. He's also a guy who can alternate at the SG/SF spots so he could move to SF when we go small with Thad at PF.

Well, Miller is a much better defender than Korver. His lateral quickness is way better than Korver. Agree he's not an above average defender like Andre, but my hope is we have someone next to Sam who can defend. I think Thad will be a good defender. Basically my hope is we would have a SF, PF and C who can defend and make up for Miller some if he gets beat off the dribble.

OK, Real GMers...what teams have a great SG and need a great defensive SF?
Iguodala would be perfect in Milwaukee next to Redd. They need defenders bad. Not sure they have anything I would want for Andre though. I'd take Yi, but they won't trade him and we would have to take on another players making close to 10 mil in order to match salaries.
Other teams that would be a good fit are the Lakers and Phoenix

You guys (for the most part) have a very intelligent board.
Thad Young is a tremendous prospect. I knew he'd be a solid NBA player when he was in high school, and he convinced me he could be a starter during his year at GT, but after the way he played today I think he could be a true star in this league. He has fantastic touch around the rim and scores very effictively. He also seems to know his game a lot better then most players with his age and experience. He understands where he is supposed to be most of the time and makes smart decisions with the basketball.
The thing that surprises and impresses me most about that is that I feel like Mo Cheeks is terrible at coaching players individually. Most of your young guys look very confused, like they don't really know their role. It seems like Mo gives conflicting instructions to guys, especially Iguodala. It wouldn't surprise me if one timeout Mo tell Iggy that he has to make the defense respect his shot and start knocking them down from the outside, only to tell him to stop shooting so much and take it to the rack the next.
