Maxey is really turning into Tony Parker with a better jumper. Sky is the limit imo and he could peak at best PG in the league if he keeps trending up like this.

Harden focuses on running the offense and distributing, and Embiid focuses on anchoring the defense and rebounding. Having an offense that’s less reliant on foul grifting would be helpful come the playoffs.

Maxey 25 PPG 5 AST 4 REB
Embiid 22 PPG 14 REB 3 BLK
Harden 19 PPG 13 AST 6 REB

Slow down.. ur too fast like Maxey

Part of my rationale is the belief that Harden is at least partially washed. If Harden can just be a better scoring worse defending version of CP3 now... that can work. If Maxey becomes the number one assassin.

I was on record before the games in that Maxey stats thread that he’s gonna out score Harden. Harden is very much in point guard mode outside of when you can tell he looks to iso. Which is fine. Doubt he outscores Embiid though that’d be nuts. That would involve them changing the offense around, Embiid just gets so much more stuff run for him.

I guess if he keeps making every shot he has a chance lol.

He looks fantastic! Could be an all-star this year it appears he’s even taken this game to another level.

John Kruk tweets: “I know it is pre season basketball but @TyreseMaxey is a bad man!!! Favorite player to watch by far…we as fans of the @sixers should feel blessed that he is on our team!!!”

It sounds strange but I don't want a ton of stuff run for him one of Maxey best strength is taking what the defense gives him and not trying to do too much.

That is what allows him to be uber efficient and such a terror scoring the basketball. If we give him iso stuff and force him to create scoring opportunities outside of his comfort zone we are taking away part of what makes him special. Let him do what he does best which is blow by defenders and play off Hardens and Embiid gravity.

Agreed, even as Doc said. You look for Embiid, you don't have to go to him, but plays that get him involved shifts the defense for Maxey and others to attack.

I would love for Joel to take a step back the way he said he did in 2019. He brought that up recently, so that he can focus more on anchoring the defense

Maxi is such a good shooter., Keeping the ball in his hands instead of allowing these two All-Stars to make plays for him is it the best thing. We all know Harden can't necessarily catch and shoot like Maxey, so the team needs to utilize people where they can best help the overall team. I still think transition and early offense is the best way allow Maxey to be aggressive... Not calling pick and rolls or iso plays for him. Being a release valve for Harden and Joel is his best bet in the half court

Is Maxey already a better shooter than Damian Lillard?

When 3s are created for him, yes. Self-creation, no. But absurd this is even a justifiable question and the answer to the second could change shortly.

Maybe.

The real question tho: is he better than Cam Thomas?

Can the Sixers offer Maxey an extension yet? Watching what the Dubs are up to… safe bet the cap is taking another leap. Offer Maxey now and get ahead of it.

I expect they'll prioritize that after the upcoming season.

I’d rather take this approach

I just learned that

Maxey and DeAaron Fox have the same height without shoes at 6’2” and wingspan 6’7”

Same height and same wingspan should also imply the same standing reach, or at least very close to it. I guess one of them could have much broader shoulders, which could throw it off. But that seems unlikely.
