Yeah but not needle movers. Morey was brought here to move the needle, do big things. He had been a failure so far unfortunately. He needs to do something they will put us up there with Boston.

If they do that, they might as well just sell the team and move it to another city.

My god we heard that BS last year Morey is just trying to keep his job. If he doesn’t come up big it’s time for him to go. It’s that simple.

funny thing is that Elton may have been the most aggressive GM we had lol

he has been thrown in the closet and we have been scared money ever since

Mostly because of the silly money Elton threw around after the aggressive trade.

Here's a creative idea to expel our assets:

S&T Harris (3 year, 50M) + #16 + '26 FRP to ATL for Murray
'28 LAC FRP + BBall + '29 FRP to ORL for Isaac
Sign Klay to a ~3 year, 60M contract (buy-low candidate, still shooting 39% on 93PA)

Re-sign Batum to 2 year, 10M
Re-sign Melton to 1 year, 10M prove-it deal
Re-sign Lowry to 2 year, 10M
Saric on a vet min
Oubre on a TPE (is this still possible?)

Sign a backup C with #41

Maxey Murray Klay Isaac Embiid
Lowry Melton Oubre Batum Saric
RC4 #41

Let Isaac/Saric slide to the 5 occasionally. Secondary playmaking with DJM. Best Embiid DHO threat since JJ with Klay. Issac guards the Giannis/Tatum's of the world. I see this as the best Embiid roster and I believe the biggest question mark is Isaac here. That '28 LAC first is real value though.

Let’s stop the back and forth over this. It reallly doesn’t matter at this point. The situation will be monitored.

As much as I despise Cupsnake, he's realistically the only dinosaur out there who could win us a playoff series alongside Embiid and Maxey.

.... I could see us wanting Durant.

And I could see Durant wanting to come here. Fits well, actually close to his hometown, he fits a need. I don't know if it rises the level of him pushing his way over here. Morey would give every single pick and swap for Durant too.

Yeah we don’t have the assets, unless KD makes it uncomfortable for other teams. He has two years on his deal, so you would think the Rockets or anybody else would force his hand.

Does KD have much leverage?

I'm wondering if there is an opportunity to take on a large deal like Andrew Wiggins in exchange for a future first to sweeten the pot for Durant (haven't looked to see if Wiggins + Durant would work cap wise for us).

Currently our most valuable asset is cap space, and many teams in the league are dying to get below the 2nd apron it seems.

I wouldn't trade Sengun and picks for Durant. No way.

Sengun RULES.

If Embiid allows Morey to punt this off-season then he's not a winner. Plain and simple. I don't care what BS Morey tells him.

Well that's that.

Remember this the next time someone tries to sell you on cap space.

Agreee
Morey used this BS last year. Are you kidding me? We have the most cap space in the NBA Morey needs to get something done. If he comes away with nothing he needs to go. Is that simple.

will say this is why I didn't like the cap space plan.

no one willingly wants to come to Philly lol. Harden "did" but that was because he thought Morey would give him the max more than actually wanting to be here.

It literally was the reason we did the process. Only guys we get are old and washed and soon to be overpaid like Elton. Be it the weather, the ownership, the gm, the fans...players don't want to come here if they don't have to.

Thats why not having any real assets hurts because we also can't outbid anyone even with cap space since other teams can match our pick haul easily. Just pure malpractice over the last 10 years and we are paying for it now lol

Losing out on your coveted guy to a non playoff team with no cap space would be such a bad look.

It was a hard sell. There was never many realistic options. I never understood it; however, who knows how things will shake out over the next few weeks.

I didn’t want to max PG or Butler anyway. The overpays for PG, Mikal, OG, etc, are only possible if you think you are a piece away. I don’t think the Sixers are close enough to dump our remaining cap space and assets on guys in their late 30s, or guys who aren’t perennial all-star types. It not as much I want to wait out Boston, as I want to make sure if we push all of our chips in, we have a good enough hand to possibly win a title.

I would dump all of our picks for Durant, but we likely don’t have enough anyway.
