So anyway it looks like Kawhi will be meeting the Sixers this summer...

Read on Twitter

I'm not surprised tbh because around the time we were linked with trading for him a report came out stating that we were one of the few teams he would consider resigning for and of course his agent/uncle is a Sixers fan and lives in New Jersey. Maybe the battle we had with him left a good impression on him? We'll see. But if this turns out to be true then it means we would have gotten meetings with Lebron and Kawhi which would be a good sign moving forward. There's no question IF he comes here then it's a wrap because he would be surrounded by better players than he has In Toronto, It was him and him alone that got them through us, and I can't see that happening again next season as our team are only gonna get better imo.

Keep in mind that the Sixers orthopedist is Kawhi’s Dr., so at the very least he’s comfortable with that part of the org (unlike what drove him from the Spurs).

I'm not sure Jimmy and Tobias will be happy waiting around while we wait in line for a Kawhi meeting. Not saying that it would be a reason not to take the meeting if offered one but more that its yet another minefield for Brand, which he has not shown an ability to navigate.

just in a general negative state of mind right now lol.

This would actually make sense if they’ve been pushing for a meeting with Kawhi.

Retain Harris and signing Leonard would restore my faith in this organization.

WE MUST USE THE MLE ON THOMAS BRYANT JR.

Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid
Derrick Rose, Zhaire Smith, Mike Scott, Taj Gibson, Thomas Bryant Jr.
Vasilije Micic, Shake Milton, Marial Shayok, Matisse Thybulle, Jonah Bolden

Why? I’d rather leave him out in the wild so he can continue to get obliterated by Embiid. I think that matchup was one of Embiid’s most prolific last year.

bryant guarding embiid would literally be the least of my concerns if we signed him. lol.

Getting Leonard is still a long shot, but would still be a big win even if it meant losing both Butler and Harris. Just spit balling I came up with a scenario of

Resign Reddick
Renounce everyone else
Sign Leonard
Sign JaMychal Green - 80% of Harris's production at 40% of the cost
Sign Seth Curry - desperately needed bench shooting/scoring
Sign Kyle O'Quinn (room exception) - steady backup big

Simmons - Reddick - Leonard - Green - Embiid
Curry - Smith - Thybulle - Bolden - O'Quinn

With decent health and some development from the young players that could be a 60 win team. It would even be cheaper than any scenario keeping Butler and Harris.

Bryant played 20+ mpg and started 50+ games this year. I don't see him interested in a diminished role with us. And it's not like you can slide him to F to play with Embiid to increase his role. He's a pure 5.

If anything, it may just push Tobi and/or Jimmy away from us. But if they won't commit to EB at this point of time, EB can't assume what their plans are.

Harris probably doesn't want to re-sign unless we move Ben or let Jimmy walk, anyway. He doesn't want to waste his time being used like Dario Saric when he's our top onball talent.

If both leave and we’re left looking like ****, maybe we should bark up Morey’s tree again to relieve him of the Rockets nightmare.

Yeah, everyone should be allowed to do their due diligence. I'm sure Jimmy and Tobias will be meeting with other teams. We have to be able to meet with other players.

It makes sense. Brett Brown has a good relationship with him and IIRC Uncle Dennis is fond of the organization and is from the South Jersey area. It's probably just a courtesy but we used to never get meetings with the top FA and now we will have gotten one twice in a row.
