Amor fati.

Seriously if that was the scheme to have Ben Simmons as a focal point then someone needed to send the Net's GM and Coach video of Ben balling it up at his summer sessions and then show what he produced during the regular season. OMG this/that can't be a real professional NBA strategy going into the season!

The Nets are a playoff team with Simmons and bottom 5 when he doesn’t play

The problem is that he’s only played 12 games

The problem is that Ben Simmons showed the Nets who he is and the Nets refused to believe him. When he came over from the 76ers he said he was looking forward to playing....never played. The following season he was in and out, more out than in. Now this season? Yes injuries happen, but if he is now an injury prone player that does not play then you can't build around him right? Just boggles my mind that this "was/could have been" a strategy going into the season for the Nets. No way !!!
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

The Nets coaching this year has been questionable (and that’s being fkn generous) which is why Vaughn has been canned

Should never have been extended IMO

Or just maybe it was not their strategy but just Ben's BBIQ that finds winning plays when he is on the court hence their better record when he plays , I don't believe they had any special plays revolving around Ben given the few minutes he plays even when playing - truth is Vaughn sucked and lost the Players - Tsai and Marks gave him a nice retirement package to go away n enjoy life.

I think this was my same concern circa 2016. The team needs to be built around a deeply flawed player or it doesn't make sense.

Ben Simmons hates basketball. Only piece of info you need to know it won't work with him.

Simmons has played 12 games & the team hasn’t been built around him

Anyway, if Din & Mikal are so good then why are the Nets a bottom 5 team when Simmons doesn’t play?

This tweet is clickbait in a slow news week

Because your team doesn't have a competent PG or valuable ballhandlers other than Simmons. The team has a bunch of off ball guys trying to create plays.

You also allow an inefficient chucker with the worst ast% for his position to finish 30% of all the possessions, which is more than your actual best player

I get lightly annoyed at the vitriol thrown at Embiid by other fan bases. But I know it’s rooted in him best the best player in the league. It must be a little sad to watch your superstar beg people to take him more seriously.

There’s no shot Jaylen Brown finishes his contract extension in Boston.

Lol i was just about to say the same thing.

It won't happen anytime soon, maybe, but I think we'll see the Lakers at least attempt to sign or trade for him at some point in our lifetime.

I've been watching a lot of Celtics games to see how we match up against them.

Anyway, one thing I noticed, and this also relates to why Tatum isn't in the MVP conversation, is if you think about it carefully. The Celtics' offense is built around masking Tatum’s non-ATG caliber talent as a franchise player.

If you compare it to players like Steph, Nash, Embiid, Giannis, and Jokic, who are the focal points of their teams' offenses, Tatum plays a different role. He's more like a "break in case of emergency" option for the Celtics. They play within the flow of the game, but when defenses tighten up and force them into more isolation plays, that's when they rely on Tatum. And when they rely on Tatum, they're at their weakest. I mean, we almost beat them in the playoffs that way. It's as Embiid kind of said... out of all the games where his high-variance hot shooting game kicks in, the basketball gods choose game 6 and 7.

James Ennis III was a dog for in the Playoffs for us. Don't check the box scores, you had to be there.

The Celtics often utilize lineups with two guards or three guards, featuring Jrue, White, Pritchard, and Hauser as their four guards. Hauser has been performing well and is one of the main reasons why Brown's on-court versus off-court performance is lacking compared to other starters. Additionally, Kornet has been seamlessly integrated into their rotation this season. Their second-best 5-man unit features him at center with a 93 DRtg, while their best defensive 5-man unit includes Al and KP at the 4 and 5 positions.
