You need a SGA, Haliburton and JDub first.

Sure, won’t disagree…but you also don’t find those players at 30+ years old on their 3rd+ team

Hali in the clutch is starting to feel like a glitch in the matrix.

Shooting variance is the way Indy wins this series and it got them over the hump in game 1. OKC’s offense was dreadful, they’ve got a lot of they need to do better in game 2.

We should draft a guy like Haliburton.

Great finish by Indy. Toppins, then Turner, then Pascal and the 2 Neems got them back in. Hali has big time ability to hit big shots though.

However with OKC, half court offense is a real weakness even though SGA was dominant even was good in the 4th

I think Carlisle deserves a lot of credit. They kept the ball out of Hali's hand near the end and then gave it to him when the time is right.

It feels like there wers so many times where the defense swarmed Embiid and he was completely flustered and they just kept giving it to him and it didn't turn out well. I get he's thr best player, but I think sometimes you have to counter the defense and I'm not sure the coaching did the best job preparing for that.

Problem is, IND needs to run to survive offensively as the matchups in the half court will kill them.

The OKC half court offense was predictably awful, but they turned over a team that takes care of the ball 25 times (!) and almost won despite shooting it dreadfully. Once IND stopped giving it away and Carlisle handed the ball back to Hali after having him play off ball for much of the game, they chipped away at the lead.

I still believe the Thunder win this, but the Pacers defense is real, and if OKC can't pick up the pace and get more transition scoring, it's going to be a long series.

OKC lost because they got all the turnovers in the universe and only got 11 pts out of them. That's the game, that's how they normally win.

Also, the Pacers cannot get to the paint at all, even in the 4th. I think Indiana is just forced to make these games a complete shot out, if necessary take 50 3s and play Haliburton off ball. It's the only way.

I don't think OKC it's so bad scoring off turnovers again, but by the same token i don't know if Indiana turns the ball over 20 times in one half again...

I don't know, i think OKC wins in 5/6 but their offense is shaky as hell so i'm starting to have some doubts

I only saw the first 3 quarters, but i dont think i ever saw a crazy defense like OKC was playing. Pretty amazing, although it seems the refs let them play way more physical than the other teams... But their offense was pretty bad. If they shot well they would probably be up 30 points easily in some point of the game. I think OKC should consolidate their assets and maybe trade Jdub or Chet for a true offensive number 2 option kinda of player. They are way too inconsistent, and even if their defense suffers a little they still have Dort, Caruso, Cason to make up for it. Imagine if they could trade CHet( and picks) for Giannis? They would be a dynasty.

That was the first finals experience for all those players and the head coach and it looked like it. I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they can get back to basics on offense.

Ultimately, the Thunder’s rim pressure gives me more confidence in them the rest of the series. But at this point Indy is feeling like a team of destiny and they can definitely win if those shots keep falling.

OKC will win 4 out of the next 4 or 5 games. Game 1 is just to make it look like Pacers has a chance.

I feel like OKC just needs to go back to double bigs - kinda feels like Daigneault got a little too cute and it blew up in their face.

Pacers are like the early 2000s Pistons in that they have no stars.

Hali's clutch play and some of his on-court antics have been fun, but he can't even give you 20 consistently. Casuals won't tune in for Pascal Siakam.
