Hey Everyone,

New to this message board...Wanted to throw my 2 cents regarding the draft...

1) The only 2 guys that really interest me are Ross & Waiters....fairly sure they'll both be gone by 15.

2) I want no part of Sullinger...he reminds me of Drew Gooden, but not as athletic

3) I like Henson, although I have Brandon Wright visions.

4) Tyler Zeller would be a solid pick...Perry Jones & Terrence Jones are wildcard picks

thats possible or maybe just looking for a guy of equal value/contract that plays another position.

say you drafted waiters or ross.........and you had turner and dorrell wright........you are pretty full there at SF...assuming you keep thad and play him some at SF too..you still have holes at backup PG or even at PF or center...maybe just getting a guy you like better that plays a different position. i would think it would be easier to move jefferson than biedrins.

could be due dilligence..i dont know.

but since beal is out of teh question....Waiters, Ross and Lamb are really your only higher end scorers in this draft.....there is not a big supply..so mine as well keep yourself prepared.

SF-

Why doesnt it seem like the front office is willing to negotiate for the 7th or 8th pick?

The Toronto deal works for us without putting in the 15th pick, but not for Toronto.
The GSW deal works for them, but not for us because of the contracts.

Youve stated wed be willing to buy a late 1st rd pick such as OKC at 28.
Well why dont we buy it to use in a trade instead of just to pick someone?
Would Toronto be more interested if we offered 28 and 45 with Iguodala, instead of 15?

Or if not package 28 and 45 to a team like Boston for 22. Then offer Iguodala and 22 to the Raps. Seems like an even compromise.

I just feel like the obstacles in these trades are so easy to overcome, thats its not making much sense if we end up sitting around doing nothing.

I would think that - with most of these scenarios - the Sixers would want to make sure that the guy they want is there before they make a deal - right?

i would agree but if you got 7...henson is gonna be there......waiters is gonna be there....unless someone projected top 5 falls to you.....i personally dont see a risk at doing that deal before draft but i am also impatient:)

In regards to the 76ers as an organization, I have been very negative towards them. There hasn't been a significant trade since Chris Webber...they always have excuses as to why things don't get done...they overrate their own talent....they treat role players like core players.

As for what I would do with the current roster...

1) I would not Amnesty Brand...instead, I would trade him for some big contracts that have 2-3 years left...similar to what the Wizards did with Rashard Lewis & Bobcats with Ben Gordon. Big time free agents aren't coming here anytime soon; therefore I'd rather trade for someone with 2-3 years left on their deal rather then signing Kris Humphries to a 4 yr, 40 million deal.

2) To be honest, I dislike this entire roster...we don't have one true core player...Iguodala could be that if we had 2 stars around him...Since we won't be getting 2 stars anytime soon, Iggy must go while he still has value.

3) I would trade Evan Turner and Thaddeus.

4) I would not re-sign Lou for more then 6-7 mil...Hawes I would consider bringing back for 4-5 mil

5) Bottom line - this team hasn't been a good shooting team in at least 20 years...until that changes, mediocrity won't change.

Terrence jones can defend and block shots unlike Thad.

Jones isn't an offensive juggernaut, but he can knock down an open jumper, score inside and finish around the basket. He could be a less athletic josh smith.

I love Dion Waters game but to me he dosent fit on our team he's just another player who needs the ball in his hands is he a 1 or a 2 I'm not sure but he's a creator and we already have to many guys who like to have the ball when need players who can come off of screens or spot and make shots

Sixerfan, was there anything to the blurb the other day that GS was interested in T. Young as well as Iguodala? It would obviously take more to pry away the #7 pick, but is there any interest in Young at all from what you have heard?

Ya i dont get that either they want iggy gone to let turner have the ball but then want a ball needy player in waiters... its why i dont understand why we arent in love with the best off ball scorer in this draft who can also play and score with the ball and is a long rangy athletic freak in lamb... i hope our interview today is real interest in him and maybe weve been keeping it quiet

man there are so many ways this thing could go.

Henson and Sullinger?

their skill sets matchup but its really hte same position. Henson is not a center.

few things happening today that i think are interesting.

We are meeting with Jeremy Lamb(wasnt told workout, was told meeting) and we are still talking aggressively with GSW but are looking for a third team to trade Richard Jefferson or Biedrins too to maybe do a three way deal for #7.

also told if we dont trade iguodala tonight...we would aggressively pursue an iguodala for gasol, jefferson or josh smith after draft.

Great great news. I like the aggressiveness.

Not sure if you saw it or not, but I posted earlier that there's multiple reports that Lamb has been red flagged for a shoulder injury. Might make it a real possibility he slips to 15 if teams are scared off.

Another interesting thought. The other day some fans went nuts when Thorn mentioned that he didn't see the Sixers moving up from the 15th spot. Some took that to mean that Philly will do nothing again. However, what if Philly does make a deal to acquire a pick as has been discussed on this board without trading the #15? In that instance, Thorn told the truth about Philly's own pick, while simply acquiring another one in a different move. At least, I would be happy if that happened.

It's seems like Ross and rivers have possibly leap forged lamb on a lot of people's boards.

I'm fine with it, especially if he fell to 15.

I agree somewhat but this may fall under the draft best available and trade for need mantra that Thorn talked about.

I see Ross or Lamb as better pure fits. And I am not a Lamb fan.

FWIW..Chad Ford just said the sixers have Ross pegged at 15 if he falls that far(which i doubt but its not impossible)

That would seem to hint at Andre being on the way out either before, during or after the draft.
